Vomiting

Hi all. My partner pared down from 15 mg to just under 14 mg (half a pill plus 3/4 of a 1/4 of a pill--isn't this madness?) a month ago. Withdrawal symtoms followed his usual reaction, but usually he has pretty much recovered physically from a drop after a couple of weeks. This time he's still vomiting a month on, especially when something upsets him. Just wondering if anyone else has had the nausea and upset stomach go on for such a long time. I'm pretty sure it's the pills because he's still angry and irritable most of the time. Mostly he vomits after breakfast and/or dinner, but I can't convince him to "eat lightly". He spent today out concreting the driveway, and ate fish and chips for lunch, so it's not like he's bedridden, and he's gained weight rather than lost it. He insists it's depression causing the vomiting rather than dropping the pills, but I don't think so. Any thoughts? Now he's talking about doing another drop (to half a pill plus 1/2 of a 1/4 of a pill), and I don't think it's a good idea yet, but I am learning he has to make his own choices here...it's his body and his pills, even if I have to live with the consequences as much as he does!
Cheers,
Suzi

De facto partner now at zero! Last sliver of Aropax (Paxil) taken Dec. 5, 2007, inched down a scraping of a pill at a time from 20 mg at the start of 2006.

(Prescribed Aropax 40mg, then 60mg in 2002 for depression, along with lithium. Over 2004 he dropped fairly easily from 60mg to 20mg in 5mg steps, then stalled for a year after swinging wildly suicidal at 15mg and went back up to 20mg.) Currently still on 500mg lithium.

Re: Vomiting

Suzi, first It is absolutely fantastic your partner has such great support...it means so much for us "sufferers" to know our loved ones are there to grab our hand or too just listen with out judgmeent..bless you for that.

Second, can you get liquid paxil in New Zealand? This will help with the splitting of those dam pills.

It sounds to me that the vomitting is related to the withdrawl, has this happened before...or it could be an emotional reaction as well.

It is so different for everyone.
