Re: Taper complete:Lexapro Free

Hi everyone,

I am on a simple Nature Cure diet still.I will post the details about the diet later.
I have lost 2.5 kgs in roughly three weeks .(I was off diet for 6 days out of that,as I was travelling).

After tapering ,I have not had any major or minor symptom.

I am quite comfortable, exercise for 30 mins to an hour a day.I am working,as always.

I am trying to reduce my dependency on diabetic medicines.I am already seeing improvement.

I wish all of you a speedy recovery.

Scott,

I was on Xanax for around 12 years.(Max dose was 2 mg).

I was put on Zoloft, changed to Paxil, and changed to Lexapro when I tried to give up Xanax.

Thank God ,that I could do it.

Re: Taper complete:Lexapro Free

Hi Everyone,

I am off from Lexapro from June 15th.(almost one and half months).

I am feeling better.I am still on a diet.Have reduced 3 + kilos.

I am able to exercise.I have been able to reduce my diabetic medicines.(Glizid 80 to 40 mg;and metformin 500 to 375 mg).

I am travelling a lot.(diet is a problem when I travel).

withdrawal ? Except waking from sleep suddenly once (was it a zap),I have had no major side effect.Sometimes I am angry, but I am able to control it.Stress of job ? Yes,but manageable.

I am planning to start my Yoga and meditation and Taichi soon.

My Cervical spondylitis and back pain is almost gone.

Yes,there is life after Benzos and antidepressants.

All the best to all of you.

Thank you for posting this. It is easy for people to come on and find horror stories about how unending that this process can be. The successes seem harder to find because so often people for get about us! Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience. It spreads hope and fuels positivity!

Continued success to you!

Re: Taper complete:Lexapro Free

Question, I am considering changing from Paxil to Lexapro. A freind of mine is On lex and says he has no side affects and compared to the crap he experienced with Paxil Lexapro is the way to go. I want to wean off but right now is not a good time in my life, i need a couple months before I begin to taper. Will I feel w/d symptoms of Paxil when I switch to Lexapro? And are the Lexapro w/d symptoms as bad as the paxil? if anyone knows?

Re: Taper complete:Lexapro Free

Nick, this is trading one ssri for another. You will not escape paxil withdrawal with Lexapro. It's the changes in the brain that makes these drugs work... adding lexapro just adds another unknown to the mix that is already not working for you. You have been on paxil for a long time.
Sorry, I'm not feeling to kindly toward any of these drugs today.

Ha, way to go girl!!! I'm so happy for you and delighted to hear you are having a pretty easy go of things. Awesome. You were grinding up tablets and putting them in water right? Would you recommend that method or was it pretty much of a hassle?

Sounds like you are giving good focus and attention to body mind and spirit and I so agree with that approach. We've been diced up and split up by modern medicine and philosophy quite enough thanks. Nick for the love of god man..do not do this..it could lead to a unhappy place, a place where you would wish for the old paxil symptoms back...do not start yourself on the ssri cocktail party route...rather be a lounge singer in vegas...

continue the slow taper off of paxil then..it will take time but that is okay too..with the proper speed of taper...the time will pass pretty uneventfully..
