Poop out?

I'm not sure if some of you are famaliar with my last post, but I've been on Paxil since about 2000. Thats about 6 years. Lately I have been waking up with morning anxiety (not so so bad, but bad enough to fear it), a little dizzy now and then, the joint pain, and jaw pain. I'm scared its poop out. I am taking 25mg of Paxil CR, no generic. This all seemed to start taking place when I switched pharmacies becuase my pharmacy was out, and we all know how missing just one dose can make you feel bad. Well I missed a dose, and maybe even two, I don't really remember. Anyways, here I am, asking those of you who have had poop out, if this is how it starts. I can't be dealing with this right now, and if I raise my Paxil up to the 37.5 MG or even some other number, will that stop these withdrawal like feelings? I've been talking to Scotty lots and she suggests I give it another week. I will do what she suggests cause I trust her, but I would like others who have experienced it to give me some input. Thanks.

Re: Poop out?

Definitely give it another week. I'm still sort of thinking that you got a bad batch or counterfeit drugs, so don't rule that out yet. What you are experiencing sounds like withdrawal symptoms. What am I saying? Those were my major withdrawal symptoms if you throw in extreme fatigue. But, give yourself time to get 'restabilized' on the better quality meds before you decide for sure.

If you are experiencing poop out, upping the dose could help for a little while. However, just from being around here for a while, I don't hold out a lot of hope that it would help for very long. Some people only get a few months before it happens again. It seems like that once the brain figures out how to overcome the inbalance, it takes care of business quickly. Then, you just have a higher dose to taper off of. Additionally, the higher the dose, the more extreme the side effects.

Don't get all up in arms about that yet, though. You'll cross that bridge when you come to it.

Locky, try and get another batch of cr before you make any determination of poop out. PLUS give it some time to clear from the missed doses.

Yeah... don't jump at the poop out just yet. This is an individual experience, some people just a bit late on a dose/change of mg's can really throw them off. Give yourself a chance to balance out again.

Did I mention that 'fear' can trigger the anxiety and make the whole situation worse?

Re: Poop out?

Thanks guys for all the input. I got the new batch of meds Thursday, today of course being Monday. This morning I woke up and felt semi-anxiety, but I was waking up looking for it, it's just too damn hard not too! I made myself eat a granola bar for breakfast, cause I read thats good to level out blood sugar or something. I still occasionaly get dizzy spells and joint/jaw pain. Noticed I am clinching my jaw like I did before when I tried a fast wean. I will give it more time. But I must say, these withdrawal symptoms aren't NEAR as bad as the ones before when I did a fast wean. How much more time do I give it? I'll keep you updated.

Locky, do you have any history of blood sugar problems? I'm curious. I've got hypoglycaemia, and having low blood sugar makes me super anxious & vulnerable to panic attacks. But beware of eating high-sugar foods to get your sugar up -- in a lot of cases, the sugar high will be followed by a nastier sugar low than the first one. Foods rich in protein (nuts, eggs, & such) usually make the best breakfasts for me.

Re: Poop out?

Summer Bee, no, I don't have any known problems with blood sugar, and there aren't any in my family that I know of. My anxiety isn't real bad, it's bad enough to notice and pay attention to ya, but not like it was when I weaned to fast. By the way, is that you in that picture?

I'm glad you don't have any blood sugar problems -- they can make withdrawal quite a bit worse.

And: yup, that's me in the picture!

Summerbee, you may have trouble with Paxil and Blood Sugar, but I bet you don't have any problems with they guys.
