Can you explain a little more? How much medication are you taking and what kind? How long have you been taking it? Did you lower your dose or anything?

Re: Can't undertand it

How much did you drop down? Sounds to me like you are going thru withdrawal. What you mentioned is 100% withdrawal symptoms. Why you are having this is probably because of your dosage drop. I think you have two options here, be tough and ride it out, or, up the dosage to your previous one and become stable. If you've only been on Paxil 8 weeks I would just ride it out.

Re: Can't undertand it

Symptoms reappear at different times with no reason. When they do happen, try as much as you can to remember the time that was better. The brain is still adjusting. Sometimes fatigue can bring the symptoms back, sometimes just the way the wind blows it seems.

Rest was always the best for me, even though it didn't make the symptoms go away. At least it gave me strength to try to get through them and the rest of the family was safe from me when I was resting.

If you can figure out what triggered your symptoms, face them head-on. Go through the breathing, watch what you consume (caffeine, sugar, etc...) and figure out what your brain is telling you that it needs right now.

Best of luck and always remember that this phase will pass. You've seen it pass before and it will happen again.

Oh ok I'm sorry I misunderstood you. That's why you are having all those symptoms, becuase your body no longer has Paxil in it and your brain is looking for it everywhere. Do you have any xanax? I know other users would get mad at me for asking that but that stuff works so well for calming you down. It's high addictive though.

Thanks Delynbetter
I know that you are right I just get so scared when it happens, I think I have a brain tumor or I am going to have a seizure etc.
Thanks Locky for your help to. No I don't have anything to take and don't want to if I get through it without.

Re: Can't undertand it

Not mad, Locky , but no, I wouldn't suggest Xanax or something that could begin another road to another withdrawal.

OK, who all out there has used the different kinds of teas and such to calm down? (My usual remedy was sleeping and isolation.)

Re: Can't undertand it

Yeah, Tammi. Going through withdrawal and even after finishing a person can wonder about brain tumors, heart attacks, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis. Many people have had many tests run, almost all of the tests coming back negative. It's just a matter of time.

At the same time, don't hesitate to get something checked out just to make sure that something isn't wrong. Just please don't let them convince you that what you are experiencing is the return of your original symptoms of depression or whatever you were put on Paxil for. You have felt the relief of not being on the medication, so you know it is in there. You are most likely experiencing one of the infamous bumps in the road to full recovery.

I'm a big fan of chamomile tea and honey. Every once and a while I drink it and take Valerian Root.

Re: Can't undertand it

Thanks again, I am seeing a new doctor on Friday, who is prescribing bio-dentical hormone treatment for menopause, so I am am going to see how much she knows about Aropax and see if she will give me a physical etc. My regular doctor is not so sympathetic towards all the symptoms and thinks it can't be aropax! its my mind playing ticks.
I wonder if those of us in menopause suffer more physical symptons of withdrawal than others?

Re: Can't undertand it

I don't know about menopause in particular, but I can tell you that my PMS was WAY out of control post-Paxil.

Re: Can't undertand it

Tammi, what you are experiencing is classic withdrawal symptoms. They tend to ease up and then creep back up on you when you least expect it. It is really scary when you don't know what is happening. Know that this is common in withdrawal and the fear of 'remaining' in this state only causes greater anxiety.

There was a time I questioned if the withdrawal could carry on as it did, or if my daughter needed medication. We held firm to what we learned here. Today she is drug free and all the symptoms have left. The answer here is time, take each day as they come, soon it will be part of your past.
