Anybody that pooped out...

I pooped out on Paxil last September/August. I just started weaning in May. Has anyone noticed this: When I drop, for about three or four days I feel AWFUL - bad headaches (HORRIBLE HEADACHES, actually), bad dreams, increased anxiety and bad mood, awful stomach problems, nightmares and night sweating, etc. Then after this period, I feel GREAT - positive, relatively happy, reduced anxiety, more relaxed. THEN about two or so weeks later, it hits again really badly, but it is more rage and anxiety and hearing problems, until I drop again. Matter of fact, this was what made me keep dropping back in May, as I went down relatively quickly from 30 to 20. Then when I drop again, three or four days of hell, then about two weeks of 'happy times', then BAM hits me again until I drop again... and then.... I finally got the liquid last month, and have been consistantly taking 17.5, then got really down again - just dropped again two days ago but only by 1 mg, and I already feel like I'm heading toward the happy again, even though I hurt really badly right now...

Anybody?

Hmm. I'm tapering escitalopram (Lexapro) currently, and immediately following a dosage taper my moods seem to shift over days in ways not unrelated to those you describe. Sorry for not being more explicit; I'm quite messed up this particular day, the fifth on a new, lower dose of poison. I didn't experience a complete poop-out of Paxil though, more a change and an escalation of side-effects.

I pooped out on Paxil before weaning too. I get most of the symptoms that you have but I don't get to that "Great"! I will call it a short period where symptoms are less intense then back into the thick of it. Mine seem to be linked to hormonal changes being my worse time with a lightening in the middle?

If I ever see "Great" again I will make sure to post it. Glad that you are getting it! Hopefully your great will expand and take out the bad for you soon!

Same here with the poop out. In the beginning it was like what ya described after a few days i'd feel pretty damn good. Now it's not like at all. I am miserable all the time with many of symptoms ya mentioned. Had to go back up to 6.25mg yesterday. It's frustrating cuz i don't feel like i am getting anywhere anymore. Kind of feel stuck where i am at least until i can get the liquid, but who knows if even that is gonna help at this point. I was certainly not stabilizing at 3mg, that's for sure.

It is great ya have the liquid to start your slow wean already. The slower the better, so they say. You can do it.

Upon withdrawal, hospitalized and brain damaged by electroshock. 30 mg paroxetine 200109 - 200501 Tapered to 0 mg 200501 - 20050519. 0 mg 05 - 06 (3 1/2 weeks) 5-20 citalopram 06 - 07 15 mg escitalopram 07 - 08 6 RUL ECT 200507 20 mg escitalopram 200508 - 200512 Found ect.org and zaprap.org 200509. Tapering to currently 7.5 mg escitalopram since 200512. Found paxilprogress.org 200607.
