hopefully in the right spot

I started weaning of effexor 225 mg and lithium 300 mg's a day. Ive been down this road before and i hit the wall hard. One symptom of withdrawal that really gets me down is the lethargy. I get overwhelmed and then all I want to do is sleep. Any one out there have suggestions.

Welcome to ya! You can't fight it - that's my suggestion. If you're tired, you have to sleep, your body really needs to recover. I get overwhelmed too, and rather easily, and I just have to accept it for now. My body is going through so much already - with the aches and pains, the stomach problems, the anger and rage, the horrific dreams, the insomnia - if it finally wants to sleep I just let it. I also find that drinking more juice and eating healthier makes some of that yuck-sleepy feeling go away. Many people on here also have found that supplements are very helpful - I'm sure they'll write too!

Welcome Johnny! One of the key things with weaning off effexor is going very slow and wean by tiny amounts. Effexor is a tough one, but you can do it! I would wean the Effexor first. Don't wean Effexor and Lithium at the same time.

Re: hopefully in the right spot

Lethargy, overwelmed, and sleeping I can relate. I was really sleepy while on the Paxil. The symptoms you mention have gotten better and worse during my weaning. If you need to rest do! If you get overwelmed rest if you can. My advise is to do one medication at a time, and go slow. It seems to be easier the slower that you go, it gives your brain and body more time to adjust to being without medication. Have patience and be kind to yourself.

Good Luck
Debbie
