Best time of day to take paxil?

I've been on paxil for a few months and i've noticed that sometimes when I take it, a few hours later I feel as if i really have to really have to use the washroom. What i'm trying to find out is, what is the ideal way to take paxil? Is it best to take with food? in the morning? at night before bed??? Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

sorry to be a party poop here but there isnt a best time to take it,the best place for it is the toilet along with all the other toxic waste, but hey thats not very hel;pful,i tried taking it at night but seemed worse that way so my regular routine would be to administer the poison in a morning along with breakfast,
sorry to be so blunt

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

I had to take it in the evening or else I'd be back asleep within 3 hours of waking. This was before and during withdrawal.

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

There is no good time to take paxil... If someone feels they truly need to be on medication, paxil and effexor should not be considered at all. The relief one gets in the beginning is not worth the possibly months of hell if it poops out and going through withdrawal.

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

Back when I was on it, taking it after dinner (not right before bed) worked best for me. If I took it in the morning I was tired all day.

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

I took paxil in the morning and I still woke up every morning exhausted and having gone to the bathroom multiple times at night. Getting off of paxil was the only 'cure' for those things. Having said that, you should experiment to see what works best for you. Because paxil has such a short half-life (21 hours), you will need to 'work your way' to the desired time. So, I wouldn't change my daily dose by more than 2 hours a day.

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

I have been on here a long time, it always amazes me when people comment that they were so exhausted on the paxil. For my daughter, it kept her awake, and when she did sleep it was toss, turn, fall on the floor and sleep walk.

Re: Best time of day to take paxil?

I've always taken it around 9:00 p.m. Then, I'm ready for bed by 11:00. Be sure to eat a good supper. I wouldn't take it on an empty stomach.
