symtpom i am scared off

this morning while sleeping on my side it seems (which i normally do) i remember breifly waking up for a second and "stutter breathing" like when you are crying or something, for a cpuple of breaths, then it felt like my chest stopped.....and i fell back asleep.......

this worries me as if i am going to stop breathing...... also, i remeber i had this happen about 5 times during the 4th (and last year) i was on paxil, albeit MUCH worse, i actually remember being conscious and stopping breathing and then "stutter" breathing or taking short gasps for air......and my body being paralyzed and me not being able to move nor fully wake up, and then i would fall back to sleep.....at that time since i was on paxil i didnt care, just thought panic attack and forgot about it.....

what do u guys think?

I'm sure you're fine, but have you ever considered being checked for sleep apnea?

I think it would ease your mind, if nothing else.

By all means get it checked out..prepare for some tests etc...but if itis Sleep apnea.it could lead to more dangerous issues...

Re: symtpom i am scared off

I know that exact feeling, it is very scary. It does not happen any more as I am almost 18 mos paxil free. I would be laying there just having fell asleep for a nap and all of the sudden I would sit up real quick and gasp for air, It really freeked me out, but it happened probably a dozen times, it almost threw me into a panic attack, but it eased fairly quickly. I hadn't heard of many other having this but, yeah, I had it for awhile, probably until the 10-12 month mark. It has gone away for me. Keep on truckin, my friend you WILL make it.
