Re: anxiety attack

Cally, use your breathing and coping skills. You'll be ok. Post when you get to work, if you can. Try not to dwell on it, that'll only make it worse.

Re: anxiety attack

Cally - I had one on the plane this past Sunday. Klonopin didn't stop it. I just sat there about 10 minutes and made myself deep breathe and not allow myself to freak out. You know these won't kill you......they're just so darn annoying and we want them to go away!!!!!! Don't fear it.......just ride it out and slow your breathing down and it will pass. Hugs to you!

Just a part of the process. A sign that you are progressing. Rest for a little bit if you can and breathe. It will pass. Hugs to you!

Cally, when you get the tests back, please tell us what it showed. If nothing else you will have confirmation that this is withdrawal.

Re: anxiety attack

Did they give you drugs at the hospital? Sorry you had to go there. I know how that goes to well. The drive getting there is the worst part imo. Very scary. Funny thing personally for me though is I just feel safe in hospitals. I think it has to do with spending my puebecent times in the hospital for dialysis (non diabetic related kidney problem. God healed my kidneys, it was to say at least a miracle). Usually when I get in a hospital my panic goes away for some reason.

This is well-documented, typical behavior for panic/anxiety sufferers. As soon as they get to the hospital the panic stops because they feel they're in a safe place and will be taken care of.

Re: anxiety attack

Scotty the tests came back normal but they still want me to have another stress test. it was just SO weird. I have never been that dizzy and it lasted for a long time(almost 2 hours). they gave me the anti vertigo stuff and that helped but whenever i moved it changed my blood pressure...bizarre. I slept for a couple of hours when I got home and I was totally out of it for the rest of the day. Also when I got to the hospital i was so cold and sweaty my teeth were chattering. The nurse said that she had never heard chattering so loud. (temp was normal)

Well Cally you just might be. It might be time for you to drop. I'm assuming you got stable since the last drop but are now experiencing anxiety. When it pooped out on me and I had to start weaning, once I stabalized for a few days, that was it. I started to go down in mgs again. It might be time for a drop. Hugs to you my friend!

You know the recommended dose drop is 10%. I dropped more than 10% even taking the liquid. I went down by at least 1.5 to 2 mg at a time. Stayed at 2.5 for about two weeks and that was it. If your tummy can tolerate it, you may try a little more magnesium. I'm doing 600-800 mg a day and that seems to help. Also try the baby aspirin that Alto has touted as being a cortisol fighter. Are you taking any Vitamin C? That's also a natural cortisol fighter and I'm doing 1,000 mg of timed release a day! You may also try some small amounts of valerian. I don't think its contraindicated with Paxil use but you may want to check and make sure. Right now, your whole focus has to be on making yourself as comfortable as you can during the wean and once its over. Your body is coursing with cortisol right now and that's just from the Paxil. I think the anxiety caused by Paxil is what everyone calls pseudo-anxiety. I didn't know there was a difference between that and your regular old garden variety anxiety. And, you may have to FORCE yourself to slow down a little. Trying to be superwoman going through this is not going to help. Dole out the chores if you can to other family members. Keep working on your coping skills..........breathing deeply and emptying your mind as much as you can of anxious thoughts. Stay positive, stay positive, stay positive!!!!!!

And, you can lean on me all you need to. I may be 1500 miles from you in person, but in spirit, I've got my arms around you right now telling you its gonna be okay.

Hugs and peace to you Cal -

Lisa

P.S. Are you taking cal/mag in one supplement? If you can, stay away from the Mag Oxide (which is what is usually in those cal/mag supplements). I have found that Magnesium Glycinate works the best for me.
