Re: need some support

Tammy...worrying about what the doctor is going to say will not alter the outcome one bit...I had a series of tests a while back an d got the phone cal from the doc...and of course, i had myself 6 feet under by the time I hung up the phone...they wanted to discuss my chlestrol....oh and this way they also get ot bill OHIP for another visit, sneaky bastards...

Breath Canuck chick, they could be just following procedure..I mfinding more andmore, doctors offices calling and wanting people to come it to rview this or that...better then the old "We will call you if we find anything bad out.."
and then you sit staring at the phone, and ever time it rang you jmped...so breath, breath breath...think positive thoughts...and please let us know how it goes..I wll be sending positive canuck thoughts, EH!

Re: need some support

Tammy, It's not a bad thing at all. You had to go back for the results sometime and this will get it over with. Most likely the news will be good but if for some reason it isn't you are still better off knowing since you can then begin a treatment plan. Either way it's going to be just fine.

I'll say a little prayer for you

That's not a bad thing at all, Tammy. It's just the time of day they want you to come in, that's all. Please give us an update when you get back.

Re: need some support

Praise God, Tammy! That's two docs in one week who don't prescribe it and think it's a bad drug! I firmly believe it's finally being recognized my the medical community. Slow, yes....but it's happening!

Re: need some support

When I went for my physical in early July, my new internist saw how long I had been on pax-ill. I told her I wanted to get off and had failed in the past. And she said, "That is very hard to get off of. I don't know why. I will never prescribe it again." I couldn't believe my ears. I thought about that for a month and also thought if there is someone out there like that, maybe I can get off with her support. I did go to see her when I was at day 45 and feeling awful and she wanted to give me trazadone for sleep (which I didn't take) and alprazolam (of which I have used a couple of doses). She also told me to expect "6 months to get back to baseline" which I also thought was pretty unbelievable- that she wasn't telling me I had rebound depression, yada, yada, yada......

Now on the other hand, if I go there at the six month mark- I know she is going to want to give me Lexapro so she isn't perfect. But at least she won't prescribe pax-ill. This is some sort of medical progress isn't it?

I am now on day 68 and really can't believe I have come this far. I just go one day at a time. I really appreciate the support I have received here. Akaenew
