The Process

Ok *sigh* I'm ready to wean! LOL
I took 30MG for 3 years up until about Nov 2006 when I dropped suddenly to 15MG. This was pretty brutal but it been 3 mos now so no going back.

My question is: by how much should one drop down each time and how often?

Thanks!

Re: The Process

Rule of thumb is 10% of current dose, every 2-4 weeks, depending on what your body is telling you. NO FASTER THAN THAT!

Re: The Process

No more than 2.5mg each taper. If you can get liquid paxil, taper by 10% of current dose. There is a spreadsheet that is a sticky if you want to do it that way. To do a 2.5mg taper, you will have to quarter 10mg pills.

After each taper, wait a minimum of two weeks, then evaluate your symptoms. Wait until ALL emotional and physical symptoms dissipate and then taper again. This could be anywhere between 3-6 weeks and will likely change from taper to taper. Throw out the calendar and listen to your body.

Be sure to take a daily dose! Good luck!
