Should I just continue

Hello Family,
I'm new to the site, but I know already that there is a bond among those of us who are experiencing Paxil withdrawal. I have a question. I have attempted to taper off of Paxil quickly and over a long period of time. The one long taper I had eased the withdrawal symptoms and I was off for a month until all hell broke loose with a stressful job. I was between doctors and all I had was a bottle of Paxil, so I went back on. Now I am withdrawing again. I was taking 10mg for about a year and doing well. About three weeks ago I took one pill every two days for a week and felt pretty good before stopping completely two weeks ago tomorrow. I have okay days, pretty good days and bad days. My vertigo is resolving but I continue with some hot flashes, nausea, headaches, muscle aches, loose stools (sorry ), some difficulty sleeping, some anxiety and intermittent blahs. I have read that sometimes during withdrawal if you take one dose of the Paxil it will calm things down enough to continue the withdrawal process. I am wondering if you all think I should just leave well enough alone at this point, or try the one dose approach? Thanks!

Re: Should I just continue

Welcome, Stacye! You're tapering schedule isn't one we recommend and taking one Paxil isn't going to help you. At this point, you have two options: You can go back up in dose and taper slowly, or just stick it out and try to ease your symptoms with supplements.

If you go back up in dose, try to get a script for liquid Paxil and taper 10% of your current dose every 3-4 weeks. For example, if you were at 20 mgs, you'd taper to 18, then to 16.1, etc.

Best of luck to you!

Re: Should I just continue

Welcome Stacey, Laurie pretty much covered it. Skipping days is definately not the way to do it, nor is stopping abruptly. Read the faq page, the threads here, there has not been much success doing it that way.
