Question for those who can't take fish oil

What is it that happens to you that you cannot take it? I'm just curious.

It makes me really jittery, like caffeine. I think Kim has said it raises her blood pressure.

Thanks texgirl. I didn't know how some people react.

Re: Question for those who can't take fish oil

I've tried taking it, but it makes me feel sicker. Rev's up all my symptoms and I start feeling a vibrating-like sensation all through my body. All my symptoms get kicked up 5 notches.

For the record, I used to take it before I got off Zoloft ( for a skin problem ) and I did not have any problems with it at that time. Since withdrawal, my nervous system has become so fried, it's like throwing gasoline on a raging fire.
I can't take magnesium either. It does the same thing.

Yep, that's all supplements for me, and even way before paxil. It's like I'm on speed. Words cannot express how revved up I get. Now I know that my bp going up is part of that equation, too.

Re: Question for those who can't take fish oil

The fish oil makes me feel more anxious and I that in turn makes me feel like I can never get a deep breath, and magnesium gives me tummy issues.

I am sipping tea as I write that contains a powdered form of calcium and magnesium, I have taken it in the past with no problems, hopefully I will be able to tolerate it again, as anxiety is growing lately. Will let you know...

Re: Question for those who can't take fish oil

I can't do magnesium either, because of the stomach thing. Only now, 14 months off Paxil, is my stomach getting back to normal. Surprisingly, tapering off Klonopin has helped my stomach rather than made it worse. The lower my dose gets, the more my digestive system improves. But I think I'll have to be off it completely for a while before I try supplements again. Right now all I can manage is a multi-vitamin, and I have to watch the formula. Can't deal with any of those "extra energy" fomulas 'cause of the B vitamins.

Casey, what kind of tea is it? Can you say the brand? I had to give up my calcium supplements because they also contained magnesium.

Re: Question for those who can't take fish oil

It raises my mood for less than an hour and then I crash very hard. Fetal position depression, extreme irritability. Every single time...

I tolerated it perfectly before withdrawal.
