I'm so frustrated!

I've been off Paxil for 2 weeks with a quick withdrawal approach. Now I have to decide if I should stick it out or go back on and do a slower withdrawal. I don't know what to do and I know no one can make that choice for me! I've asked God to make the decision, so hopefully He will get back with me today . I started to ween off the Paxil because we want to have a baby. This is messing everything up!

Re: I'm so frustrated!

I initially started with 20mg but have been on 10mg for almost a year. When I talked to my obgyn about getting pregnant she wanted me off the paxil. My general practioner suggested taking one pill every other day for a wk., one pill every 2 days for a wk. and then stopping. He thought since I was on such a low dose, I probably didn't need the Paxil. I've been off for two weeks, and some symptoms are getting better and some are more bothersome. The vertigo is pretty much resolved. I continue with the gastrointestinal symptoms, and some muscle aches and anxiety and blahs.

Well, your doctor had you wean absolutely all wrong. How fast do you want to get pregnant? If its something you're trying now, you could just tough it out but you basically went cold turkey and this could only be the beginning of the really hard stuff. I would recommend you go back to say 5 mg., stabalize until your symptoms are bearable, and then wean from there. You must take a consistent, daily dose of Paxil because of its half-life.

Most doctors are absolute idiots!!!!!!

P.S. There's not a human on this planet who NEEDS Paxil.

Focus your attention on the here and now. Recognize it for what it is: the one moment of the only life you will ever have that you truly possess. Rare is the individual who has come to completely accept that the past is no more than a memory and the future an assumption about unborn events.
