Hello, about the Suit against Paxil
I posted here long, LONG before when my idioatic doctor prescribed Paxil to me.
Lately though I've seen the beginning/end of (I keep missing them!) the 'If you have taken so and so medication call the law offices of..." commericals, however it's been with Paxil. This is very, VERY intruging. So I finally looked it up today, and while I know I got the information from Wikipedia- which is never all that reliable- and if I have anything wrong here, I'm sorry, it said they were giving (maybe?) a settlement to those whom had been prescribed Paxil. I never filled the perscription, but I was most definitely prescribed it. And I am most definitely a minor for when they prescribed it to me and still. Therefor, I was wondering if there is any kind of number I call or such to add my name to the list of those wanting compinsation- or do I just have this completly wrong? |

Re: Hello, about the Suit against Paxil
The paxil lawsuits that are being settled include the following-
--you overpaid for paxil. If you have proof, you can get a refund. --you took paxil as a minor and attempted suicide or successfully completed suicide (family members, obviously). --you took paxil while pregnant and your baby was born with certain birth defects. Otherwise, you are pretty much SOL.

Well, I personally think the people whom that happened too were more SOL, but.....
And... oh well. I guess I could hope. (LUCKILY none of that's happened to me o_0.) |

Those attorneys keep on pitching their wares. They're almost as bad as the drug companies advertising.

Re: Hello, about the Suit against Paxil
I am waiting patiently for my lawsuit to come around. I waited when the families of harmed children sued. I am waiting now that parents of children with birth defects are suing, and I will continue to wait until it is my time. I WANT it to be a class action lawsuit, though, because I am less interested in getting a wad of cash for myself than I am in ensuring the public is warned of this poison and people are prevented from ever getting on it in the first place. If I were to pursue my own lawsuit, the best I could hope for would be a secret out-of-court settlement and having to sign a gag order on the matter, and I just CANNOT be silent about this! People HAVE TO KNOW they are being preyed upon by unchecked, massive pharmaceutical giants who are paying political puppets like Ted Kennedy and Dick Durbin to promote their interests at the expense of innocent people (Even our CHILDREN aren't safe from these monsters anymore!); and they need to know that the FDA cares more about kick-backs than doing their jobs. This has gone on for just WAY too long, and it has to stop.
