I need some words of encouragement

Hi guys
Decided eventually to take on board all your advice and help and go back up to 10mg to stabilise. I will be telling my doc on wed that I won't be switching to effexor. Despite what he says I don't think it will help wd from this evil med. my days are filled with 10 minute alternating periods of feeling very positive, motivated, energetic to feeling depressed, lethargic, nauseus and no motivation. Is this normal in wd? Will it subside?

My gorgous hubby had forgone a work trip and is taking me for 6 days R&R at a health retreat which I'm sure will help me. It doesn't help when you're feeling like **** tho'. When will my brains receptors function properly again? I need hope.

Sorry for all the questions.

T

Re: I need some words of encouragement

First of all...what an AWESOME hubby you have! Nothing makes this w/d easier than having a supportive spouse!

Now, as for what you're feeling...absolutely normal in w/d and you going back to 10 mgs is going to help you. Bravo on not doing the Effexor, you're making a very wise choice! Also, bravo on YOU taking control and not letting your doctor dictate to you!

You know, just look at the positive steps you've taken and that should make you feel better already!

Re: I need some words of encouragement

Thank you so much Laurie - it's working already!
I took my hubby along to my doc apt last week for support and for him to try and understand why I didn't want to take my docs advice. He now understands my issues better.
Thank you for being here.

Re: I need some words of encouragement

Hey, you did the right thing by not listening to your doctor. Doctors hate sites like this, because we actually KNOW what we're talking about!

You're going to do great on your taper, once you stabilize! I'm here because I tapered too fast last year, I know what you're going through. But, here I am, half way through, and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

I feel strong one minute then a complete woose the next - it's mad how it makes you feel. I totally understand what withdrawal is now.

Oh yeah....BIG roller coaster. But, hold on to the strong moments. Soon, they'll overtake the bad ones!

Yeah..exactly..well have you tried fish oil..I would go on a serious fish oil and vitamin B therapy to help you out with this..glad you not going to try Paxils evil twin Effexor

You hang in there,..one step at a time..ok

Wee T

There was a time when I thought I wasn't going to make it with my withdrawal. I really panicked because I knew I had to come off this stuff, but was feeling so awful - a lot like you've described. These days I just don't want to look back - life is sooooo much better!

Hang on in there. This too will pass....
