Update fro medzizzle

Depression kicked in today.. And, Im still worried aobut that lymph node.. My friend went to the doctor for one she has had for 6 months.. they told her it was nothing.. I know it's probally nothing.. I just have constant worry.. the on on my neck is hard and i havn't noticed it getting any bigger over the month except after smoking alot the day prior or poking it alot.. Im thinking that's causing alot of it.. I had one under my jaw that i started messing with and it got hard and i could feel it without actually looking for it cause you could feel it throug hthe skin instead of me having to squeeze around. i stopped messing with ti and it went down.. just scares you when you look that up on the net and it says "cancer" so my goal is to go a week without touching it and see if it shrinks.. If not then im going to freaking lose my mind

I can't remember, but did you go to the doctor about this? If not, then you need to, just for peace of mind.

Re: Update fro medzizzle

If anything most likely its just a muscle knot. I actually had a situation like that on my neck before when i had a bump and I had no idea where it came from and it was just a knot from stress, I think in the lymp node area as well...I'm trying to remember it was a long time ago. Those areas are very very very common for bumps like that to occur. Especially for people like us with high levels of stress and anxiety. Does it hurt when you press it, more like pressure, tension. Try massaging the area.

Re: Update fro medzizzle

Most things like that are quite harmless -- there are so many causes, muscle knots, benign cysts (I've had a number of those, some QUITE LARGE, but totally harmless and eventually they'd go away by themselves), etc.

By all means have a doctor check it if you're concerned about it.

But as for "diagnosis by google" -- did you see this recent thread? http://www.paxilprogress.org/forums/...ghlight=google

If you didn't read it, check it out -- it puts things into perspective, and it's really funny besides (but a lot of truth to it too!).

Re: Update fro medzizzle

My advice is, get it checked by your doctor. I've had swollen lymph nodes too, at times. My doctor reckoned they can just do that from time to time from mild infections, then they clear up by themselves. You should get it checked though, just in case.
