Insufficient Sleep makes a big Difference

well i have been sleeping better lately..BUT..last night..i woke up around 3am to go to the bathroom and when i was walking I steped in something slimey..i turned on the light and saw my BIG BLACK LAB had thrown up on the floor by the bathroom..then i looked towards the living room..and i almost had a heart attack. .there was ......crap....dog pee....and throw up all over the living room..and i mean PILES..like huge cow piles..there was no way i was going to clean this up by myself..so i woke Rick up (hahaha) anyway..we both cleaned it up..OH that dog..ate an entire bag of SUNMAID raisins yesterday that he got into when we were out...i never got back to sleep..and today..i feel like the dog..so tired..hung over feeling..so.....now i can look back and see why i was feeling the way i was when i was not getting any sleep...The magnesium citrate helps me get to sleep!! i take one just before bed..and have for the most part been sleeping through the night unless london wakes up!! sorry for the storey..lol

LOL... been there, done that! If the bowels stay loose, cook two cups rice in full pot of water. Cool the water and only let that be the fluids allowed. The rice water will firm things up and prevent a similar experience tonight.

Raisins?....... LOL

OMG! I can't even imagine!

When stuff like that happens, don't you wonder how you did it every night for 2-3 months when London was a newborn? Interrupted sleep just KILLS me now.

Years ago, Matt's family dog ate half a bag of m&ms at Halloween. She ran in circles for 48 hours--completely crazy hyper. Also, lucky to have survived.

Her dog ate EVERYTHING! Speaker wire, socks, shoes, pillowcase....I lived to a ripe old age, despite his bizarre eating habits.

Awww, been there, done that (stepped in pet puke in the dark!)!

To help the dog's tummy get back on track, you can cook some white rice and add some boiled or fried and drained high quality hamburger or ground chuck (low fat is easier on the gut). Or replace the burger with some chicken breast.

This rice diet can replace their dog food for several days to help them get their digestion straightened out. It's a good diet for any convalescing dog, and they love it.

hahaha. I just got a puppy so I'm writing these tips down just in case. I got a boxer and he's so much energy and I can barely keep up with him. But he helps me take my mind off of my w/d. I'm in the housetraining part and it's EXHAUSTING!

Re: Insufficient Sleep makes a big Difference

When our dog had a GI issue, we were told to boil chicken and serve with white rice. I'm a really nice dog-mommy, so I used the chicken broth to cook the rice.

When I eat with Kate at someone else's house, I actually have to notice when she drops food on the floor. It's so weird! I'm used to an 'in house food vacuum." LOL

We used to have a shih tzu who loved crayons. She would attack them whenever the kids were coloring and hide under the sofa to eat them. Needless to say - our back yard was very colorful !

Re: Insufficient Sleep makes a big Difference

Several years ago, when we first got our lab mix, Nathan dumped a big old bowl of leftover chili outside. Butter found it and ate ALL OF IT.

I don't think I have to finish this story. But, I'll say this, I was SO pissed at Nathan, cause he can't clean that stuff up, so guess who cleaned it when she couldn't make it outside.

Fortunately, that only happened a couple of times, she was able to make it outside most of the time.
