quick weight gain question...
ok so it has been about a week since my cold turkey method which is killing me!...I think i am going to go back to 5mg's as suggested and then tapper slowly..however will the lower dose of the med make me lose any weight or will it remain constant? (since i stopped the drug the weight has been an obsession of mine--I believe part of my ocd) thank you~Donna

Re: quick weight gain question...
I tried to start losing weight as soon as I hit zero. But it didn't budge. When I hit month 6, I tried again and it started coming off. Don't beat yourself up with trying to lose weight and deal with W/D symptoms, those are bad enough. Take it one step at a time.

Re: quick weight gain question...
Donna-
Forget about the weight loss! Your first goal HAS to be feeling okay to live your life. Cold turkey creates such absolute havoc with your brain that you are actually better off in the long run to taper for every conceivable reason. Some lose weight during their taper; others don't lose a pound for a year past zero. There's no way to know, so do what you have to be to live a decent life. The longer you stress about the weight, the more you contribute to the high cortisol levels that keep your weight on. Release this worry. The weight really will take care of itself.

Re: quick weight gain question...
Well, obviously, you want to take it when you will remember it and be able to take it every day. I would take it now because it could help you feel a lot better quickly (or could take a couple of days). If you would prefer to take it another time of day, I would move my time up on it a couple of hours every day until you take it at the desired time. So, if you would rather take it at noon, I would take it at 11pm tonight, 9pm tomorrow, 7pm the next day and so on. It will be a pain for a week or so, but it will get you where you want to go.

Pick a time of the day that works for you and stick with it.
