Update

Well, since the Paxil( for the third time) kicked in two weeks ago I feel great. I am back to work, playing golf tomorrow and the depression is gone for now. The Ativan ( 1mg) is lasting a full day and I will start to slowly taper off of that. Like I said, I hope I am the exception as I have never suffered poop-out.

It's amazing, one day you are thinking about ways of killing yourself and the next week you are almost back to normal.

I do understand the side effects, both getting on and off of Paxil can be hell, but the drug, at least for me works.

Re: Update

Shuff, you understand what your taking, and that's half the battle. Most of us didn't know what we were taking, or how to get off of it.

When you're ready, we're here!

Re: Update

Good luck Shuff. I'm going to suggest that while paxil is working for you that you get therapy and try to get to the route of any problems. Take care.

Re: Update

I am in therapy and I know what set all (3) episodes off, but I am not sure I can control my brain. I became depressed after major things happened. The worst was when I lost a job I had had for many years, got into credit card debt and lost my home.

So, alot of it for me this time is having to live and deal with destructive things I have done in the past and to not dwell much on those things and I am working on that.

Re: Update

I'm glad your working on it, you are taking all the right steps and will get to where you want to be.

It is 'normal' for one to feel depressed, stressed, have anxiety etc. when ****ty things happen in our lives. You will over come this.

Shuff, the first step is recognizing what starts the pattern of depression. Sound like you are making progress in that area. Good for you!
