Can Fish Oil Make You Sleepy?
I'm interested in trying fish oil, and actually have bought GNC's fish oil (1000mg capsules, although I'm now seeing posts that suggest maybe liquid would have been better--I didn't even know you could get fish oil in liquid form!), but the way my panic is, I'm worried it will make me sleepy. I know many thing it's great if something helps you sleep, as I've heard fish oil does, but I have been feeling panicky sometimes upon drifting off to sleep (and therefore, waking up and feeling awful until I could calm down), or waking up panicky, and feeling sleepy makes me anxious), so I don't want something that will cause me to become sleepy. Thank you.

Re: Can Fish Oil Make You Sleepy?
Fish Oil never made me sleepy. Actually it would make me feel more alert. So that's why I would take it mostly in the morning with breakfast. (in liquid form)

Re: Can Fish Oil Make You Sleepy?
Fish oil doesn't make me sleepy, and I'd never heard that as an effect of it.
I take a 1000 mg capsule (only contains 130 mg EPA) with my morning supplements, and a tsp of the liquid (800 mg EPA) and sometimes another capsule with my evening supplements. The only real reason I'm mixing caps and liquid is to use up my capsules as I only recently bought the liquid. Magnesium on the other hand, which is another highly-recommended supplement, can be relaxing. Margaret

Re: Can Fish Oil Make You Sleepy?
Fish oil doesn't make you sleepy. And, a good brand of capsules is just as effective as the liquid.

Re: Can Fish Oil Make You Sleepy?
it shouldn't make you sleepy but the kind you got at gnc probably isn't a good quality version. You don't measure it by the 1000mg label on the front of the bottle. Add up the dha and efa on the back label and divide it from the 1000mg pill. Most will be around 180/120 = 300 = 30% quality. Scientific grades can be around 70% pure. Your efa should be around 1000mg.
