feeling constantly dizzy

hi everyone! can anyone give me some advice?? for first time in a while i tapered by cutting my 20mg tab in half i was fine for a few weeks then came the zaps and dp and during this i had to go away on bussiness so i thought gezz really cant be doing with this right now so went back up to original dosage (40mg).... i havent tapered for a while due to bad run ins with DP and thanks to all friendly advise here i went back up......anyway.. ive been back up on 40mg for 2 and half weeks and been feeling awful,DP has gone but im feeling very dizzy. If im up doing things and busy im fine not unbalanced at all,but when i stop it feels like there is a whisk in my head on high speed! even typing this i feel like my brain is spinning. Its wierd,it only happens when im still. Is this due to my taper and going back up?how long does the average person here take to stabalize?its been 2 and half weeks now and i feel so crappy with this dizziness.any help deeply appreciated thanks guys.
p.s.......has anyone else had this?

Re: feeling constantly dizzy

i don't know why it happens but every time i've switched dose or meds this has happened. It seems to happen even if you drop in dose and then go back up. I'm not sure how long it will take to adjust. Your body may have been used to hte 30mg as it sounds like you were on it for almost 5 months. The increase to 40 is probably what is causing it. If you can do 30, it may help but i'm sure you'll still have it for a little while.

Re: feeling constantly dizzy

This is what they call"uncommon dizziness"..its happens when on Paxil when you "shift doses" as you have done.... too frequently here .
It also happens during withdrawal and also later on will just come out of the blue and "hit you".....some call it vertigo, because it feels likje things are spinning when you are standing or sitting still. Its uncommon dizziness because its very hard to describe, its not like what we would normally call "dizziness" because you can still some how function.

Trys to stay at your lower dose, and stay there until things stabalize, that may take some 3 weeks or so.

Hope that helps.

Regards, Johnny
