New to forum- my brain feels strange

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I have been off Paxil (5 mg that I only took for 2 months) for just over 2 weeks. I have this weird symptom where it feels like my brain is really sensitive and almost like it's vibrating and hitting the inside of my head every time I talk loudly or if hear a loud noise. It makes me dizzy and disoriented.

Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is typically known as brain shivers or brain zaps. Its pretty normal during withdrawal.

There is nothing much that you can do for them except try to avoid stress and stimulating enviroments. Taking fish oil may help.

Don't worry -- brain zaps are dreadful & annoying but they go away. It just takes time, and the length of time is different for everybody.

Welcome to Paxil Progress!

The good news is, you were on a very low dose, for a very short period of time. So, whatever you're experiencing now, should be short lived.

As rubbyducky suggested, start taking fish oil. This will help with the zaps and dizziness.
