Re: Wellbutrin

I'm about to start tapering off wellbutrin tomorrow morning. I have already tapered down on the paxil to 10mg. I now feel stable on the small amount from 40 mg. I was wondering if someone could please tell me what sort of withdrawal symptoms I may get from wellbutrin. Thank you everyone for this wonderful site - I couldn't do it without all of you.

Re: Wellbutrin w/d info, please

My personal opinion is, I wouldn't taper another drug, until you're done tapering the first one. You run the risk of double the w/d symptoms.

I'm actually going to disagree for once on this axiom. If you are stable at ten and have been for a while, I think it would be a good idea to get off of the Well. In fact, I generally would advise people to get off of well first, if possible. My reasoning is this--wellbutrin without an SSRI is very stimulating and often anxiety-causing. Just being on wellbutrin could make normal w/d anxiety, which is brutal enough alone, absolutely unbearable. I do think that it would be a good idea to take a paxil tapering break and go ahead and get off the well.

You probably won't have to taper it as slowly as the paxil, but some people do have some w/d with it. Usually, it is short-lived and I hope that is the case with you.

Re: Wellbutrin w/d info, please

Thank you both for your reply. I do feel stable on the low dose of paxil. I think since I am on day 3 without Wellbutrin I will continue and see how it goes. Except for feeling tired and having hot flashes, I'm feeling alright (so far). Thanks for your replies. I so do appreciate all the help!

Wait a minute...I'm confused. You said you were going to start "tapering Welbutrin." But, you're now saying you just quit it on Friday?
