If I had a silhouette of my body and poured paxil sized sugar tablets into it since the very beginning how many tablets would be in that silhouette-at 5'3 approx. 105lbs. Actually its making me sick.

Round figures with some "fudge factor".

12 years @ 1 tablet per day = 4380 tablets

Assuming one tablet = 0.024 cubic inches (.5" diameter X .125" deep)

Actual volume is approximately 107 cubic inches, but since round tablets leave spaces between them, toss in a conservative fudge factor of 1.75 and you get approximately 187 cubic inches or about 3.06 liters.

Doesn't sound like much, but the standard engine on a Chevy Malibu only displaces 2.6 liters.

In terms of area, neatly placed adjacent to each other, that's about 7.6 square feet. If your silhouette was traced on the floor and the pills were arranged in there, they'd probably reach up to about your chest somewhere.

You know what else would be visually impressive? The number of pills taken over a ten-year span in a giant bottle. Even more impressive, since most doctors tell you "you have to take this for life" a bottle with 20+ years of pills!

Don't laugh, but I was having a bit of a rough morning when I read Pokie's post. Spending a minute or two figuring that out helped de-rail the anxiety. Fun, and therapeutic!

If my math is correct and you assume that the bottle GSK ships Paxil in is about 2 inches in diameter, that would be a pill bottle roughly 5 feet tall! It would be the only pill bottle that comes with its own set of structural support cables.
