bloodwork results...

Hi.
My latest blood work results indicate a high increase in the liver levels...

can this be related to copper toxicity?

What do you mean "liver levels?"

Re: bloodwork results...

I think Paulo means they have found that his levels of copper are probably high , possibly borderline.

He will have to find a way to detox and to help restore his livers health, obviously it has suffered some significant stress and its now showing up in the bloodwork, not just in "patient symptoms" which are usually dismissed by Docs "slight of hand".

These are probably AST levels... this of course needs to be evaluated by a professional, it can mean many things.

Re: bloodwork results...

Liver results...could be anything. But a safe way to clean out your liver is
fresh squeezed lemon juice every morning. No water added, no sugar added. Don't eat anything for 1/2 hour. Work your way from a small amount to more...for 2 weeks then take a week off.
I know my doctor checked my liver to make sure it was still processing the Paxil properly. It was all ok. It is possible the drug your on is too hard on your liver and needs a gentle de-tox. Lots of fruit and veggies

Re: bloodwork results...

Paulo, if you have a juicer..which helps..this is what I do every morning.

3 carrots, large
large chunk of ginger fresh root
small chunk of tumeric root..fresh

This has really helped my digestion and liver.
Your right about acupuncture helping with the liver detox....remember not to be too aggressive, or you will suffer a rebound effect.

Re: bloodwork results...

that's right. I abandoned my acupuncture therapist because when we reached the part of detoxing, i was experiencing terrible pins and needles (sign of detox), he told me it was all in my head. I didnt like what he said and left.

Re: bloodwork results...

The only other thing i can think to think of is a european tea that my parents have used for cleansing the liver and kidneys. It has helped both of them avoid surgery for kidney stones. I would have never believed it if i didn't see it as we all know how wivetales are. But...this worked for them. The doctor was AMAZED. Its oat tea. Non sprayed horse oats. Use a pot full of water and let boil. Rinse 2 handfuls of oats in strainer. Put oats in water and let boil for 5 minutes. Simmer on medium-low for 50 minutes roughly. STRAIN the OATS FROM THE TEA. Throw out the used oats. Tea can be drunk cold or warm. Leave in fridge for 2 days so it doesnt' go bad. Drink this for a month. You can usually get NON SPRAYED HORSE OATS where they sell FARM tools. Up here in Canada we have UFA to buy from.

Wow.. I can't tell you..that your going to have to ask an expert ..but your levels are high.

AST is normally 21
and ALT is usually at 24..... thats what mine were..even after the hell I went through.

GGT .. around 30 or so..so all are high..
So you need to ask your doctor about this and about the older tests and compare the results.

At this point, its best to go back to your doctor and see what she says, I would ask for an adrenal test at this point, thats all it could be...but I have zero knowledge on this except for what my tests showed.

Re: bloodwork results...

The size of the pot is a larger one. The kind for making spaghetti. (not the large stock pot however)
Cheers.

These are normal ranges for the above:

ALT 5-60
AST 5-43
GGT 5-80

You are just barely out of the normal range on two, the AST is normal. This is nothing to be concerned about.

Re: bloodwork results...

Those numbers are something that most doc's wouldn't even look twice at. If a liver is damaged they would be MUCH higher than that.

Re: bloodwork results...

Why are you concerned about copper, specifically? Most of the time, the body takes care of it through normal metabolism and it doesn't accumulate unless you have a genetic disorder.

Are you taking any herbs that might stimulate liver enzymes?

Re: bloodwork results...

High copper levels and also a high copper/zinc ratio can cause a lot of problems. You might want to read up on this Paulo if that's what these results mean.
