Eye/vision problems

Can anyone relate to this? I have been 5 months without seroxat and I have 2 vision/eye issues; Firstly, I wear glasses and I find that my vision is 'too sharp' and I get frequent headaches. Theres nothing wrong with my prescription, ive had them checked and double checked. I always want to take the glasses off, the blurriness I get without them seems to give some relief. Sometimes my vision seems so sharp it hurts, and magnifies the weird unreality feelings I get as well.

Secondly, I regularly (every 2 weeks or so) get a red itchy sensation around my eyes, especially under my eyelids, and my eyes puff up and get inflamed. The doc initially thought it was bletheritis or an allergic reaction to something but neither allergy meds or infection meds seem to work, which made me think it might be seroxat withdrawal related.

Anyone with similar experiences?
Thanks

Re: Eye/vision problems

I can't speak for the itchy sensation, but vision problems are very common. Usually, it's fuzziness and floaters for most.

Re: Eye/vision problems

I haven't had either of these symptoms, but I guess it is quite possible they are w/d symptoms. I have had fuzziness and eye floaters.

Re: Eye/vision problems

I had a lot of problems with unexpected burning tearing while on Paxil that came out of nowhere. Didn't matter if I wore eye makeup or not, so it wasn't that. It was so bad and so unpredictable I had to stop wearing contacts. I had this same problem during my brief time on Zoloft. It was one of the few things that I was to attribute to ADs when it started happening the more I used Paxil. This has gotten significantly better over my second year post Paxil. I still have the floaters in both eyes and didn't attribute them to the Paxil until I came here and found out how common it was. I thought it was age.

Sounds reasonable that it could be the Paxil. I've cried so much during withdrawal but my tears no longer burn and irritate my eyes.

Re: Eye/vision problems

I have the itchy, watery eyes thing too and allergy medicine doesn't help it at all. I am thinking that it must be a Paxil withdrawal thing. It usually hits me at night for some reason. I am just chalking it up to another lovely Paxil symptom and waiting it out.

It's probably sensory overstimulation or something like that.

When at the 75 mg dose of Effexor March 2005, I suddenly saw out of my right eye something like a spider cob web. Went to see an eye specialist who said it was vitreous detachment and that it would go away slowly. It did but still have a black spot that just won't go away. The optometrist said there was too much eye pressure. I think it was the Effexor that caused all this, partly because Effexor is known to increase the blood pressure.

Re: Eye/vision problems

I developed eye problems. My family all have excellent eyes. There is no history of anyone needing glasses other than my parents (in thier 80s) needing the drugstore magnifying-type glasses. On SSRIs I went from perfect vision to having field-of-vision problems ("holes' or "blocks" in my field of vision) to developing astigmatism. Maybe its unrelated to the Cymbalta/SSRIs... but Im deeply suspicious.

Post-SSRI issues: suddenly in late December: intense anxiety panic, insomnia. Dread in the mornings. But as of late Jan, doing much better. Feb and March were very good in spite of anxiety attacks.
