flu like symptoms

Every time i drop down a dose within about 2-3 weeks i get flu like symptoms anyone else have this?

Yes there is the paxil flu which many people get. First though how long did you give yourself in between tapers of 15mgs to 7.5 mgs?

I was on 20mg down to 15mg for four weeks then went straight down to 7.5mg! I know now that that was too much and I am suffering the consequences of this.

You sure did taper too fast. Your only option now is to go back to the 15mgs and get stable Where you stable on the 15mgs before?) We have a reduction guide here on the site which you should consider in reference to you tapers.

Yes I seemed pretty stable on 15mgs didn't notice too many problems. Do you not think I will eventually stabilise on 7.mg? I really don't want to go back up again it would feel like I was going backwards.

I really don't think that you will get stable -it would be like a sort of cold turkey. There are many here who tried to taper too fast and wound up in c/t status. Also most people who try to late into it to go back up after going through excruciating w/d see that the paxil does not work as well or not at all.

You should be giving yourself at least 3-6 weeks (and at that being stable) before tapering. Your next drop should be 13.5mgs. Most people who do as you did have been bitten in the butt.

You might not have to go all the way up to 15mg. I would try something a bit closer to the 10% that is recommended. Good Luck!

None of this sounds to good the only way I can describe life right now is hell on earth. I feel terrible feel like i have flu, itchy inside of nose, extreme fatigue my brain feels like it's gone, can't think straight could go on and on!!
Only good thing is that I no longer have brain zaps. I need to sort it out though as I am really irritable and with two children thats not good or fair.As usual doctors not much help.

By making the drop you made you sure are going to make your brain go into a tizzy by pulling the drug right away. You have to remember it takes approx. 6 weeks to work do you think overnight you can just yanking the drug from your brain/ Your brain is use to it and wants nore that is why you are having such a hard time. You have to fool it by going slow.

Thankyou Eileen, it has been 3 weeks since I dropped down to 7.5mg and the wd's have progressivly got worse. I may well try 10 mg but at the moment I can't even think straight. Thankyou Pokie for the 6week advice my doctor seems to think I will be off form max dose to none in 3 months. LOL!!

No i haven't been taking fish supplements as I am vegan. I have vitb12 deficiency so have injections for that eery 3 months but that is it for any sort of supplement.

I think so, it trys to open the file gets as far as virus scanning then either says it cannot open it or just a load of letters come up that don't make sense. I don't think my wd's are that bad that!lol

By the way with those big drops you will probably also get paxil flu signs
