1 Year after CT from small dose

Well, August 2nd through 6th will mark the one year anniversary of my brief experience with Paxil and Ativan - 6 pills of each, six days and then CT from both. As these days approach I find myself remembering it all - the nausea, the horrible thoughts, insomnia, weight loss - I didn't think I'd ever be able to return to work...then from October to April, the muscle twitches. I remember the doctor I consulted after stopping the meds told me, "You can't just stop Paxil! Some people have withdrawal for months. Well, now you'll just have to ride it out." (In retrospect, I realize that he was enlightened.)

Sure enough, everything has gone away.

I stumbled upon this site one year ago and found that every single one of my symptoms had been experienced by someone else. The comfort and support I found here has been incredible. I visit just about every day...I don't post much...my experiences with these meds was so limited...but I come back all the time.

Scotty has been a lifesaver for me. After my umbilical hernia surgery and ensuing staph infection and abcess, she continues to give me expert advice and support - and this has nothing to do with Paxil.

I don't know how to thank her or the many other people at Paxil Progress who never dismissed my brief experiences with these drugs, but answered all my questions, calmed my fears, and helped me.

So, on my one year anniversary, in the hope that this will help someone else, I just want to say...I recovered!!

Helen

Helen - I'm so glad you're doing better. That is so awesome you've come to post and let other's know, even with short-term use, bad stuff can still happen.

Focus your attention on the here and now. Recognize it for what it is: the one moment of the only life you will ever have that you truly possess. Rare is the individual who has come to completely accept that the past is no more than a memory and the future an assumption about unborn events.

I am glad you feeling well. It is amazing that even few days on this awful medicine could affect someone so much as it did affect you. It proves how differently we all can react to Paxil and its withdrawal.
