PMS Question

I assume if u are on this site most of you have read posts from me or something, somewhere i have commented on...or just read signature..anyway here i go, i have noticed of course at my current dosing that i have a fuller range of emotions and i think that is great...
What i find not really being that fun is my PMS MOODS are more severe.
i seriously can just cry over nothing and have to walk away before i kill my husband and kids..i seriously cannot stand to have anyone touch me for a few days and i could just crawl out of my own skin..but only the week before my cycle starts and i have some funny feelings in my head, hard to explain, some spaciness maybe is the word..Has anyone else experienced this ??????

Actually, what you're describing is classic PMS. PMS stands for Pre Menstrual Syndrome and refers to the week (or two) prior to your period and not the actual week of your period, as some may think.

The thing is when you're drugged, these emotions and feeling are usually blunted, but take away the drugs and WHOA NELLY! You now not only have to adjust to the "new" full range of emotions, but you're hormones are also trying to adjust to no drugs, or lower doses.

You're not feeling anything any different than dang near every woman feels the week before her period!

All I have to say is - YES!!!! That was why I originally went on paxil. I was given it for PMS symptoms just as you describe. If I had known what I would end up with 8 years later I would have dealt with the PMS. Oh well, now that I am tapering, I've noticed my last two periods have been different than when I was on the paxil, but that's because I think I was in poop-out for quite a while (I was back to the PMS of pre-paxil). Does that all make sense? Basically, maybe you are starting to "feel" more, which includes feeling the things that come along with getting a period

. But look on the bright side -- you're feeling!

i know it is good to feel ..it is weird to think that it is weird for me to feel again...one should never be that emotionally out of it...

My PMS was much worse during withdrawal. It will get better the further away you get from Paxil. Hang in there!

QP __________________ 2002-2005 20mg Paxil for sit. panic attacks, by GP 2005-2006 15mg 2006-2007 10mg 8/07 down to 5 mg all hell broke loose 9/07 went back up to 10 mg stabilized P. Doc did slower wean 9/07 with klonopin .05mg 3x a day/started zoloft Last dose of paxil 11/30/07 on 50mg zoloft 5/08 dropped 6.25 mg zoloft 6/08 down another 6.25 mg 7/08 down 6.25 mg 9/08 down 6.25 mg 1/2 way on 25mg 1/09 down to 15 mg of zoloft 4/09 NO ZOLOFT SSRI FREE still taking 1 dose of .25mg of klonopin

Made 2 unsuccessful attempts to quit using doctor's tapering method (2wks@15, 2wks@10, 2wks@5, then off!). Did slower taper using liquid from June 2008-Jan 2009. Should have done it even slower though!
