yes- someone else here suggested ginger to be extremely helpful for that- ginger ale, ginger capsules, and ginger tea (which is what I use) you can find ginger tea and probably the capsules also at a health food store, I like the ginger tea, I could feel it working as I drank it

This is from a previous forum and I tried Darcy's technique described below and it actually worked! I would have just linked the message but I didn't know how to do that so here goes:

Quote:
Ginger works great! And so does chamomile tea with some fennel seeds steeped in it, but avoid fennel if your bowels are already soft enough. Also, and I'm not sure if this is really new, but all my life I've been using a special sitting stance to keep nausea and vomitting at bay.

1-Sit at your dinner table. Criss cross your arms like a 'hmph!' statment but lying on the table in front of you so that you can rest your forhead on the forearms and your head in the middle hole. Inhale shortly through your nose and exhale in length out your mouth. Try to relax the same way you would when trying to fall asleep, collect that frame of mind and voila! Nausea will leave and you may fall asleep there but when you wake up, albeit a big sore in the arms, you'll be able to take that wonderfully pleasant groginess back to the bedroom to sleep.

OR

2-Bring a pillow with you and sit cross-legged on the couch (you know, tuck your ankles beneath your legs sort of thing). Wrap the pillow around your chest so that its edges are under your armpits. It should feel like you're leaning over a wall a little. Fold your arms against the pillow like you would saying 'HMPH' in disgust so that the pillow is pressed against your chest and stomach. Now lean forward some, not enough to tip your balance, letting your head fall gently forward, the pillow supporting your chest and stomach. Short inhale through the nose, long exhale out the mouth. Again, try to relax as if you'd want to fall asleep.

I've only vomitted a few times in the last 10 years despite all the Paxil withdrawal and alcohol adventures with these techniques. No idea why they work but I invite anyone to attempt an explanation!

I bought some Ginger capsules. I'm not sure they help all that much. I still feel dizzy and sick to my stomach, although it may be improved a little. I do notice that I keep "tasting it" with every burp. Yuck.

I need to try Bonine.

I've noticed that going on really fast walks helps A LOT. If I get on the treadmill, eventually all the symptoms fade and I feel great while I'm walking really fast. Unfortunately, the sickness comes back about 10 minutes after the workout, but for those 10 mintues, it worth it.

(Plus, exercise does wonders for the brain, body and mind. So, it can't hurt)

Try Dramamine, it worked well for me when I had the dizzy/nausea combo... some days I would take it when I first woke up in the morning...

Good idea about the exercise, sweating will help purge those toxins!
