Paxil CR
I think it's a slower release form of Paxil. It has a longer half life, so it would be more similar to Prozac. I would guess it might be easier to taper off since it would stay in the system longer. Not sure.

Paxil CR
Say, was that a form of Paxil that was taken less frequently, like once a week or something? I don't know why that comes to mind now. Perhaps you could do a search on PubMed or something.

Paxil CR is timed release, so yeah it stays in your system longer. I was prescribed it a few weeks ago and took it for three days and decided it wasnt for me. I felt very stimulated on just the 12.5mg. I'm sure it would be ok for other people though. I just didnt care for it. I'm trying celexa and a very low dose of a medicine to slightly lower my blood pressure to help with the anxiety I experience. Actually the later of the drugs has seemed to really give me a calm affect and I havent experienced a racing heart or stuttering when just talking to someone like I used to get. Maybe its mind over matter, but I am feeling better physical wise.

For me the CR was the better choice, after taking the normal paxil for about 4-5 months I would get really harsh side effects, namely I would get really nauseated in the afternoon/evening, even though I took my paxil in the morning. I think its realted to my metabolism (its on overdrive at times I swear), anyway my doc put me on the CR stuff and it worked great, I didn't feel the nausea etc or anything.
