Magnesium + GABA for sleep.

Took one 375 mg Magnesium but felt it was not enough so I took 375 it felt better but could not sleep so I took one 500 mg GABA and after 30 min I felt a bit sedated but then zaps at last I slept woke up in the morning feelin good really, I wonder how much Magnesium is to much and if GABA can benefit you all SSRI post users. GABA is said to be a bit abudant in post SSRI users. Also is 750 mg Magnesium too much. I tried to take Calcium but felt kind of my nerves became "agitated" inside in morning but will try with out to see if no agitation so I know today.

Re: Magnesium + GABA for sleep.

Keep in mind...magnesium works as a laxative, so watch how much you take. And, no one can tell you how much will cause stomach distress, as it's different for everyone.

Re: Magnesium + GABA for sleep.

I feel good during the day, but I do not know if it was the big dose Magnesium 750 + GABA 500. Maybe it is. Tomorrow try taking Calcium 500 + 5-10 g in morning, then Mag. 750 + GABA 500 and additional proteins, and Omega-3. Maybe it was the B-vitamin that revved my nerves up. No more B-vit! Ate sushi 12 pieces aside of work, very delicious. I love it!

Re: Magnesium + GABA for sleep.

Also, found demons are better too - really, and I feel much more "calm" and collected. Maybe it can require more Magnesium I think, also GABA? Also, the version I have is a blend of different magnesium- like -aspartate, -oxide, -acetate, -glycinate, -citrate and in amino acids. I have no stomach problems from that. It is the Great Earth 375mg brand. I can highly recommend it! The GABA 500mg is Swanson brand. I found if I am taking 2-3 500mg I get a strange nausea feeling day after, and headache. But a 500mg is doing fine really! It sedates me a bit, my muscles relax, and my eye does lower pressure. GABA do lower cortisol and stress, and increase growth hormone a tiny bit. Also, the sugar fluctuate less. The GABA-Glutamine-Cysteine trio is important for good functioning/increasing Glutathione levels. I get my Cysteine from food and Whey protein.
