Down to 5mg

i haven't posted for awhile because i've been feeling pretty good. Since i've gone from 10mg to 5mg this past week, it's been kind of rough. I get a headache everyday and have this weird feeling when i stand up and walk. i feel disconnected, or lightheaded, or floaty...i don't know how to explain it.

when i went from 20mg to 10mg, i only felt like that for a few days, but now i've felt that for over a week.

i hope to be totally off this junk in a month, but maybe i might be pushing it.

sorry, just had to vent and talk to someone

Be careful with your drops. The last 5mgs may seem so harmless but they can kick your butt!

Snoopylex -

I had a tougher time with 10 to 5 than 20 to 10! It took me about 7-8 weeks to rebound, emotionally and physically.

Most folks, here and elsewhere, advocate no more than 10% at a time taper. You be the judge with your doc.

I am also at 5mgs. but know that it will be more than a month to be 100% off (with 1-3 weeks between 1 mgs. tapers, if I can handle).

Be wise - go slow!

Blessings, Bill

Beware of drops below 10 mg.

Bill, I totally agree with you when you say that the drops below 10 mg can be difficult. I've been tapering off a high dose of 60 mg. during the past 14 months. I'm down to 3 mg, but the reductions below 10 have been a challenge at times. I was hit pretty bad when I went from 6.25 to 5. It took me by surprise. I also felt the drop from 4 to 3 mg. It seems that you're over certain stuff, and then WHAM! I've been at 3 mg for 3 weeks now and am a little leary about decreasing at the moment, even though the withdrawal symptoms have mellowed. I still am plagued by the impatience and anger of late. I hate the emotional upheaval. I also have experienced muscle twitches--hadn't had that for a while. I'm thinking I might try to go to 2.5 in another week or so (which means a full month at 3 mg.) What have you been experiencing with your latest decreases, Bill? Hope things are going well.
