SOLUTION TO ANXIETY AFTER QUITTING

Hello everyone! After quitting cold turkey in May and getting every side effect from the zaps and stuttering, to sweating, nightmares and a full body rash by day ten, I realized I'm one of the thousands who are really SENSITIVE to getting off this poison. I had taken it for six years and gained 50 pounds, so I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that. ANYWAY, I GOT MAD and tapered slowly while switching to another SSRI (Celexa). It took me ten weeks and I was really sick the whole time, but now I'm Paxil-Free. EXCEPT NOW THERE'S THIS ANXIETY like I've never felt before. It's constant, choking, disabling in every way. I'm not getting back on the poison, and Xanax is pretty dangerous, so I did some digging around and FOUND A NATURAL SOLUTION TO THE ANXIETY PROBLEM. HEARD OF HYDROXY-TRYPTOPHAN? I read about it on a success story posted at quitpaxil.org. It's an amino acid you find at the health food store. The bottle says "5-HTP" and it gets rid of the anxiety. TRY IT! As for the headaches, I'm using a lot of Motrin. Anybody know when they'll go away? Thanks!

Be Careful

Yes, 5-HTP has been mentioned on this site as well...and I wish you all the luck in the world with it. However, I think I have read that you should be off all SSRI's before taking it...I pesonally think that the Celexa may be causing your increased anxiety. Do a little digging in some of the back-posts regarding 5-HTP.

5 htp

Be careful in combining SSRI's and natural remedies. Celexa has a new form called Lexapro which is great for anxiety. Remember to tell your docs about 5-htp cuz it can interact w/ other meds and be dangerous. Good luck!

I've been of Paxil for 6 weeks and am feeling better all the time. I've found that rubbing lavender gel on the temples and wrists before bed works really well. I've also been taking St John's Wort - this combination seems to be working for me. Why not try it?
