GOING BACK TO PAXIL TODAY
I can't take it anymore. I'm going to try going back on Paxil. At this point, all I want it to do is help me. I don't even care that I'm going back on it. Maybe I'm one of the real sensitive ones. Coming off it practically made me psychotic. I'd rather go back on it and have it stop all my suffering than take mood stabilizers and anti psychotic drugs (which they've added-25 mgs. seroquel/3 times per day). Now I'm worried it might backfire on me because of whatever chemicals it screwed up to make me so screwed up. In any case, a prescription has been called in and I'm picking it up later. I'm going to start with 5 mgs. for a few days just to test it out, then if I'm reacting okay and nothing weird happens, I'm going up to 10 mgs. We'll see from there. I hope it works because I can barely function. I can't think, I'm so lethargic, I'm so agitated, I can't focus on anything, I can't work, and I can't see the point in living this way. I took my last 2.5 mgs pill on August 1st. I sure hope it's not too late for Paxil to make all this better again.

Sandra -
I'll be very interested in seeing how you adjust to 5mgs. again. My prayers are with you, of course. BTW, have you tried to use a benzo (klonopin, etc...) to help with the agitation and anxiety? You might need some added asssistance as you go through this and you might want to ask. Of course, benzos. are addictive and do have withdrawal, BUT, limited side-effects except sleepiness and a bit cloud-headed. You'll be in my continued prayers. Do not give up hope - it does get better! Blessings, Bill |

Good luck
Sandra,
Good luck. I just hope you can keep your dose low & stay on it for as short of a time as possible. During my struggles, I have found some relief with 5-HTP. I also have been taking klonopin 0.5mg twice a day for three days, and I am free of that constant wired feeling. This weekend I am going to cut down to 0.25mg twice a day and see how I do. Good luck & God bless, Brent |

Sandra, I remember being afraid it wouldn't work for me too. It did with in a day though. Your body is craving Paxil, I'm sure it will work. I sent you the Antidepressant Fact book today. Hopefully you'll get it Monday. When we win our lawsuits GSK can pay for our treatment facilities to get us off this hellacious little pill.
Hang in there, and be careful! Love, Julie |

It's okay
Dear Sandra,
It's okay to go back on the paxil...do not take it as you being a failure, or being weak...I just want you to feel well...read my post from yesterday under "Saw My Doctor Yesterday"... This doctor that I had during Healing Touch told me that often a person only needs 5 mg in order to function adequately. Don't be in a hurry to bump up too fast...stay at 5 mg...see if it will do the trick. I am holding you in the light. Cindy

Thank you all for your support; I got the paxil but I'm afraid to take it. Now I'm just sitting here looking at the bottle; I think I've lost my mind. Then I figure, is there anything worse it could do to me?

Hey Julie G
Julie, did you go with the Pendley Lawfirm and their classaction lawsuit ? I contacted them a while back, since their webpage said that Kansas filed a class action. And that's where I'm from. I know that with classactions, a person doesn't pay them out of their pocket - it comes out of the settlement. And I personally don't care if I ever see a dime. I just want these jackasses that made paxil to be made accountable BIG TIME(like right out of their pocket book, and get this lousy drug off the market.

Sandra,
I do the same thing every day ... sit and look at the bottle of Paxil. Wondering to myself how a stupid little pill can do so much damage to a human. How can it take a loving person and make them hate and want to hurt. How can it make a caring person care less. I ask myself everytime I look at that damn bottle if I want to get back to my old self ... if I want to beat it. My infant son had Paxil withdrawls and had to go off cold turkey. I feel so much to blame for his pain and discomfort ... that I have given myself no other option but to do the same. You can do it too. Don't bring yourself down if you do start back on the Paxil. This is my 4th time going cold turkey. My marriage is on the rocks because of it, but right now my health and sanity is more important. Sorry it makes me sound selfish, because I'm really not. The Devil's Drug (Paxil) is very hard to get away from. I am confident that the day will come for all of us suffering (because of this drug) will be free of it once again. Believe in yourself as much as others (especially in out little community here) believe in you. I believe in you!!!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers, Princess |

I went back on 3 times over the past 5 years, once after being off for like over 2 months! This is my fourth time, and I'm 1 week Paxil free. I did it very slowly this time, so I think it will work. You maybe just weren't quite ready yet. I know the 3 times I started back up I felt better in like 2 to 3 days. Of course, I went right to 20 mg so it may be different for you, but I bet you'll feel better pretty quickly. Just learn from it, see what maybe you could have done differently, see what maybe you need to add (or subtract) from the things you do for your health, stuff like that. It isn't failure, it is progress! How many different things did Edison try before the light bulb worked? It was like hundreds or thousands I believe, so keep on learning and trying -- you are strong and you will make it!

I agree...
.. good luck to you. I agree that maybe you should just start and possibly stay on 5 mgs per day. That's not much at all but enough to keep you feeling more normal. I have been taking 5 m's on Tuesdays and Saturdays and last weekend was a fun filled weekend full of panic attacks in the car. I was soooo tempted to get back on 5 mgs per day but that is the ONLY problems I have been having since tapering... no zaps, no nausea, etc.... I can't stand the panic feeling of being trapped in my car. I think I am going to find a shrink to help me with the anxiety in the car thing. Otherwise I could go paxil free (if I didn't have panic attacks in the car).

Hi Sandra:
How are you doing? I agree with the others that you should not feel like a failure if you go back on. I hope you are under strict orders from your doctor at this point. You probably have access to paxil from old prescriptions. I hope you are not making this decision without your doctor's knowledge. You know how little respect I have for most doctors concerning Paxil and other SSRIs but in your case, after all you have been through I do not think you should act on your own accord. I hope you do not take offense. I just want to make sure you are getting the support you need. If the doctor is monitoring you and you go back on paxil. I would start very slowly and keep the dose as low as possible. I think 5 milligrams might be plenty. Be careful! Please check in and update all of us. Mark |
