temperature control

hey guys
Im currentley 11 months off and have been in a prolonged wave now for
4 months.

I have a whole host of symptoms but have had a new one show up 3 weeks ago but im not sure if its withdrawal or not.

My body temperature is out of control. I feel really cold or hot and sweating.
I have no idea what it is. Ive taken a course of antibiotics but they did nothing so now im thinking its another symptom of withdrawal.

Im having a blood test in a few days

Could this be withdrawal? anyone else have this symptom show up?

thanks

Re: temperature control

I'm about 10 months off psychiatric drugs and have the same experience.
I'm usually too cold; the thermastat is at 78 in my house and I have a sweatshirt on. But when I take a shower and start to get dressed, I get overly hot when the thermastat is at 68.

My guess is the body is trying to repair itself.

Re: temperature control

Since SSRI's are endorcrine disruptors and it is our endocrine system that regulates temperature, yes its probably because of the Paxil. If your temperature is staying low on a daily basis throughout the day, your thyroid is probably functioning at suboptimal levels. This is really all a part of withdrawal. If it continues, you need to have your thyroid checked out via bloodwork.

Focus your attention on the here and now. Recognize it for what it is: the one moment of the only life you will ever have that you truly possess. Rare is the individual who has come to completely accept that the past is no more than a memory and the future an assumption about unborn events.

Re: temperature control

Paxil made me feel hotter than normal, when I hit severe w/d last year I felt very cold all the time. My personal theory is that it is related to the hypothalamus, but whatever the mechanism it is definitely a w/d symptom.

Re: temperature control

Wow. That's amazing! I had no idea Paxil has anything to do with body temperature. I've been having weird temp changes too. It's interesting how it screws with your whole body.

Is this teaspoon approximate-maybe you should try a dropper they are a bit confusing to use but more approximate.

Re: temperature control

Oh wait, it's with withdrawls, not jusst being on Paxil? I don't think I've experienced any withdrawl symptoms yet, I'm only 2 days in. I will go get a dropper, because they are more accurate

9 months later took 10 mg Paxil and my Xanax w/d dissapeared. On 20 mg by end. Pooped out on me. C/T then restarted it again after 3 days and big blow up. 6 months taper, never feeling much better. 2 1/2 years solid w/d then sporadic stuff for 5 years.

Completely recovered!

What you need is an oral syringe.

Just being on Paxil can mess with temperature, when I first went on it I felt very hot all the time.

Re: temperature control

I'm on Cymbalta and it is the pits for sweats/heating up. I do get chilly sometimes too, but really tend to be hot and sweaty while everybody else is wearing a sweater.

Re: temperature control

Major temp changes! UGH I'm freezing one minute and hot the next. I'm constantly kicking off the covers at night and putting them back on.
