muscle and eye issues

Hi. can anybody relate to this cos i think im going slightly crazy now. Im 19 months off a cold turkey and since day 4 of withdrawal i developed weakness down my left side. Arm, leg eye and numbness in face on left side. That continued daily for 8 months solid then flippid to right side for about 6 months leaving left side totally fine. i then had about a month where things were ok but just recently am getting those same symptoms down left side one day and right side the next, its freaking me out because feel like i cant move arm or leg on somedays and eye feels like there is grain of sand or something in it, finding it very hard to understand why it affects each side individually. Also with regards muscle weakness feels little better when i stretch out but only for few minutes. Sorry for long post, any ideas would be very very appreciated xx

Re: muscle and eye issues

This sounds like withdrawal to me. I had assymetrical issues with muscle rigidness, weakness and twitching throughout the same time period that you are talking about, although mine were not constant. The fact that it is randomly switching up on you and coming and going lends credence to the w/d idea. However, if you don't see significant improvement over the next six months, it may be something else.

Re: muscle and eye issues

I had numbness a lot on the left side of my body for a long time. My left arm would go completely numb and it would feel like it was actually detached from my body. I also had moments where the left side of my face would go numb and I would have trouble talking. I firmly believe that it was all withdrawal related. I am nearly two years off and (knock on wood) it is gone.

Re: muscle and eye issues

Hey guys thanks for the quick replys, seen 4 gps and a nuerologist both found nothing wrong and have got a mri appointment soon but it just gets worrying. i do gym work and have not lost any strength and at a real push can play soccer but its hard sometimes, scotia iv read a lot of your posts and get the whole arm not feeling there too. Have looked at my arm on numerous occasions to make sure its still there, also i sometimes still say things in my head before saying them out loud cos sometimes muddle my words, had this early in withdrawal and its comin again. when did your symptoms noticably improve???

Re: muscle and eye issues

20 months off and i am having improvement with the numbness in my arms/hands. I used to have this on a daily basis early morning. It varied from a totally detached feeling to extreme numbness. My arm/hands would feel virtually dead. I still get this but the main difference is now that the sensation is much less intense. The other morning i could notice it - but it was not bothersome as it has been in the past. Give this a little more time.

Goldenbawls,
I hope your mri went well..I just wanted to tell you I have been off this Sh&%for 2 yrs, in June..I get the numbness as well, not anymore on my face, my on my legs and arms on and off, with muscle twitching..I've had a few mri's and everything comes back fine, so I have to beleive it's w/d..it's not constant, it just haunts me here and there...hope you feel better..your not alone..Nicole
