Dear All,
I would like to thanks so much everyone for a lot of support, understanding,
caring, information and being very kind and helpful throughout my Paxil journey. I must say this site is full of great and understanding people with lot of help. Too many names to mentioned who has helped me so much, I just dont want to missed anyone (but there is one lady who helped me so much and I wouldnt do withouth her

). Thank PP, thanks so much FAMILY.

My taper schedule was as follow:
04/21 - 40mg to 37.5
04/28 - 37.5 to 32.5
05/05 - 32.5 to 27.5
05/12 - 27.5 to 22.5
05/19 - 22.5 to 17.5
05/26 - 17.5 to 12.5
06/02 - 12.5 to 7.5 (3 weeks hold)
06/22 - 7.5 to 5.0
07/04 - 5.0 to 2.5 (2 weeks hold)
07/18 - 2.5 to 1.25 (2 weeks hold)
07/19- 1.25 (1 week hold)
07/26/09 - Paxil Free!!!

I have to say going below 7.5 mg was the hardest part. Bigger drops not so much difficult (just few symptoms) but lower drops I could def. feel it.
What do I feel right now? Freedom!
I guess it is too early to celebrate for sure. Stomach pain is my main issue right now and a little bit of fear. I am just hoping stomach pain is a w/d which will go away.

I want to wish everyone fast and succesful withdrawal and healing!!!!!
Will keep you posted how is it going for me.

ps. 3.5 months on Paxil - 3 months and a week of tapering. What a evil!!!!!

Great Job ! Don't sit around waiting for bad stuff to happen. You will continue to heal as time goes on and will feel completely normal pretty soon.

Congratulations Robert!!! Just a reminder to new people that might be reading this, this was a fast taper that was possible due to being on Paxil for only a short time, and would be too fast for someone that was on it a longer time. Robert I think you will do great and do please keep us posted!

Follow up with progress later, and when you are tapering benzos/depakote!

Mixter, as for my benzo and depakote. I think I will wait 2/3 weeks and start a benzo and depakote last. Will be going slow on benzo.

It has been over 2 weeks since I finished my paxil poison.
First 2 weeks my symptoms were: severe anxiety, fear, stomach problems and shakiness. Everything is gone now!!! But last 2 days out of nowhere intrusive thought of going crazy, insane, losing my mind Is this w/d symptom as well?
Will this go away?

Yes, you are still in WD even thought you've stopped the paxil...it will take time for symptoms to subside.

In the meantime, take commish's advice and take care of yourself.

those are some nasty symptoms but I believe they will go away. I really had a problem with all of the above at different times. at least you are off the drug and you can only go forward. Luckily, as a man, at least you don't have to deal with PMS on top of everything else!! haha

Robert,

W/D symptoms very and come and go in w/d. So for me and many others the symptoms you are describing are very real. You have to become accepting of all the stuff as you experience it and know that you will heal!

It will go away. Just give it the time it needs.

Quitted nicotine. Taper too fast, 300mg Effexor Jan-08 to July-08, reinst 3 mos out. Inc dose to max 450mg, bad sxs, dropped to 412.5mg - discovered I felt better dropping in poop out. Trying 5% taper. Effexor taper: 412.5mg - 25 may-09 391.9mg - 8 june-09 372.3mg - 6 aug-09 353.7mg - 20 aug-09 337.5mg - 25 aug-09 318.8mg - 24 sep-09 300.0mg - 14 oct-09 285.0mg - 5 nov-09

(Not recommended). I struggle if I'm being honest. Still small benzo dosage to tackle. July'09 From 2.5mg- @ 2mg ( hot) now @1.75mg just horrid! After nearly 3 years free....August '09 on 20mg Prozac... VERY disappointed! 'Sometimes you have to be lost to understand yourself!'

Congratulations!!! __________________ It is better to be brave early.-Dion Henderson 1998?-2002 various SSRIs 2002-2004? Celexa, c/t'd off, started acupuncture, felt fine. 2006 Several kindling reactions to Celexa which I restarted for situational problems, followed by c/t and then a reaction to Zyprexa. Akathisia, severe dissociation, etc... Put on Propranolol, Valium and Ativan for akathisia. May 2009-On 5mg Propranolol, and Valium, and tapering the latter. (Also took short courses of other drugs during these reactions.)

C/T. Same year, 3 .5 mil Xanax a day, 4 by the end. Pooped out on me. 1 1/2 years on the drug. Doctors taper. Very bad w/d. 9 months later took 10 mg Paxil and my Xanax w/d dissapeared. On 20 mg by end. Pooped out on me. C/T then restarted it again after 3 days and big blow up. 6 months taper, never feeling much better. 2 1/2 years solid w/d then sporadic stuff for 5 years. Completely recovered! Drug free since June 2001.

Started on 10mg and increased to 30mg. Weaned off during the summer of 2004. Became PAXIL FREE October 4, 2004. Completely recovered!!!

So for me and many others the symptoms you are describing are very real. You have to become accepting of all the stuff as you experience it and know that you will heal! It will go away. Just give it the time it needs. Hugs! Lilly __________________ 1 .5 Xanax a day for one month. C/T. Same year, 3 .5 mil Xanax a day, 4 by the end. Pooped out on me. 1 1/2 years on the drug. Doctors taper. Very bad w/d. 9 months later took 10 mg Paxil and my Xanax w/d dissapeared. On 20 mg by end. Pooped out on me. C/T then restarted it again after 3 days and big blow up. 6 months taper, never feeling much better. 2 1/2 years solid w/d then sporadic stuff for 5 years. Completely recovered! Drug free since June 2001.
