There **IS** hope.
Hi, Billy. Well, I'm not **completely** off yet. I have been taking either Celexa or Paxil (as well as Buspar, Xanax, and Ambien) for almost 4 yrs. My dose was up to 60 mg Paxil. I started tapering off about 16-17 months ago. Yes... it has been a long time. I'm now down to 1 mg every 36 hrs (taking it every 1.5 days.) I'll be alternating days in just a couple more days. So, as you can see, I am almost off. I am doing really very well. I feel much better than I did taking that miserably high dose of Paxil. I think taking it slow has helped me.
There is hope... you can do it. You can feel OK without all the meds. Have you read Dr. Peter Breggin's book, YOUR DRUG MAY BE YOUR PROBLEM? It really spells out what psychotropic drugs can do to your brain and body. I hope you hang in there. |

billy,
Paxil is NOT a cure for whatever ails you. When you go off, your problems come back. Depression, anxiety, whatever. Only cure is mental housekeeping!! |
