Dear Billy,

I have suffered from anxiety...but perhaps not "social anxiety" as per say. It's not people I am afraid of...although right now there are definitely some people that "I feel safer with" than others. I am more afraid of the "losing control"...etc.

Back in 1993 when my anxiety hit big time after a 17 year absence I found a great counselor who did do hypnotherapy and it helped me immensely. It really helped "get my power back"...but for hypnotherapy to work...just like meditation to work you have to be able to surrender control. I am currently on the hunt for counselor who does hypnotherapy to assist me with getting past this "anticipatory wall of anxiety"...in a town of 30,000 people it is not easy...but I am working on it. It is important not to just go to anyone....to have a trusting relationship with the person you are working with....but I definitely strongly endorse the use of it.
