Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

This just popped into my head just now (alot of that going on lately).
I have ALOT of trouble getting any real exercise in. I am totally not able to motivate myself on my own.

So here is what popped into my head:

Would anyone be interested in trying a team work sort of thing and try to motivate each other to do maybe 10-15 minutes a day of walking/jogging or whatever you like?

We can have a thread where whoever 'joins' has to post their daily workout, we can cheer each other on, and hopefully lessen the w/d symptoms a bit.

Anyways, it's just one of the many thoughts that have been racing in my head lately. I need to get off my butt but need help.

Thanks

I'm in... just can't promise I'll actually do it. Motivating myself to "exercise" isn't something I do easily... altho I know it's prob the best thing I could do for myself!

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

I'm in!

Though lately due to starting a new job, I've found it tough to get my workouts in (I usually do them at 5 a.m. but just haven't had the energy).

And while I used to do some lunchtime walks on my lunchhour, the weather doesn't allow me to do that anymore!

But I'm up for it....

I totally would! .. but alas, I can't handle much if any exercise at the moment. Those damn side effects will rear their ugly head!

Wow what a great response!

ray34iyf: are you saying that exercise would increase your w/d symptoms?

So let's see who's all in, then figure out how to do this to make it FUN!

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

I've been finding it reallllllllllly hard to motivate myself lately to get exercise. Really disappointed in myself!! So this is a great idea! Although I'm so UN-motivated these days I probably won't end up taking part haha. But I'll try! Good luck to everyone ;-)

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

Yeah Carla. Unfortunately, any real kind of exertion throws me off for a good few days to a week or more. Really weird to me. Although it makes sense I guess when you consider how when you exercise, you affect your brain chemisty.. if it's already screwed up, then there's no way it's going to know how to react properly...idk. sucks.

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

Oh I forgot to mention that when my anxiety got really bad this time last year, I was getting a lot of exercise daily and was running a lot. Maybe my anxiety would have been even worse without that exercise, but I still had pretty bad anxiety despite the exercise I was getting. Maybe I was doing something wrong....

I'm in too. I exercise a lot and find that it is really helpful. Although I have recently been in a crash period and have found it really difficult to exercise, but I am into it.

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

Ok so what I hope to do is have an official "what was your workout" thread where we can guilt each other into eating well and moving our buns
Somewhere we can post a lil something daily about what we did that involved moving body parts.

Does anyone have any witty ideas what we can title the tread?

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

About all I can handle is the walking to and from class, other than that, it seems that more is a bad idea...

Oh, and accutane is for severe acne. One of the harshest drugs on the market anywhere, and it also has a negative effect on serotonin levels in the brain. Stay faaaaaaaaaar away.

Promise I'll jump on the exercise wagon as soon as i can... don't know when that'll be though.. wahh, i want to lift weights and play basketball again!!!

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

Exercise doesn't have to be strenuous to count. In w/d strenuous exercise can be too stimulating for the sensitive nervous system. Gentle yoga or walking can be good.

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

I love exercising! I work out 5 days a week or more now, at least that much at the gym, the rest w/ the horses. Once in a while I can get a little short of breath or anxious but once you get your rhythm down it will be the best thing for you! Plus its nice and encouraging to watch your body strengthen! Today I did cardio, worked my back and shoulders (I only use free weights - its better for the body and strength building) and worked my abs, which is the one muscle group I work every day! I think I've become a bit obsessed w/ the gym as of late but at least its a healthy obsession!

Re: Withdrawl Exercise club anyone?

SOOOO what did YOU do today? Well I shovelled the steps and the back deck. I would of done the driveway too, but when I got home from groceries, it was DONE already! My neighbour was my 'snow angel' today. We try to do that for each other once in awhile to give the other person a break. I have such great neighbours!

Apart from that, I have to sadly say that I didn't do any real exercise today.
(and I just ate 4 mini chocolate bars) opps

The whole block was blocked off with fire trucks, hazmat, etc!

I saw that as a sign that I shouldn't go to the gym today.
