Re: Itching nerves. Brain akathisia???

Ah I see, it affects the vision nerve too making the vision shaky! Prefrontal cortex and vision nerve is near.
I have this too, but is mainly now concentrated some days after a dose drop.

Jerky, shaky, jumpy, fringly, noisy, vision...

Emwave

I think I suffer from the same thing Mixter, but with me there is a more pronounced burning/hotness associated with it. By far it is the most unsettling withdrawal symptom I experience.

Yes burning+hotness+swelling+akathisia+pressure in same area, sometimes I notice some of them or so (I think this is more common than we think)

Brain akathisia is horrible!

It is a little device that measures heart rate variability. When your heart rate speeds up and slows down making a 'sine wave', then you are said to be in 'coherence'. See the Heart Math website. When you are in a state of coherence, your mind feels clearer, you feel relaxed but alert. It is great for when your mind feels cluttered or frazzled or overloaded, such as at the end of a hard day at the office.

Re: Itching nerves. Brain akathisia???

I don't know why, but my brain akathisia can show up in various places, but when it shows up in my forehead or top of the head I can barely stand it. As long as it is on the side or back of my head it seems not to bother me much at all.

Re: Itching nerves. Brain akathisia???

I realize this is an older thread but I believe this is very similar to what I have been experiencing the past few days. I started to get this "nails on a chalkboard" feeling on my brain. I actually described it to my sister as akathesia of the brain (since I have had akathesia in other parts of the body - legs/arms).

I have had something similar which usually happens when i jolt awake and try to close my eyes again and continue to lay in bed...or at night when I would lay down to go to sleep. However, now it seems to be around for hours and was with me for most of the day yesterday.

Yesterday and now today it seems it is more of a overwhelming feeling like my brain has goosebumps/shivers/energy in the nerves (between my brain and skull) along with an overall slight burn ...it is almost like an itch you can't scratch. I described the nails on the chalkboard too because it gives my body that overall creepy feeling and you want to cry to just make it stop. Like other types of akathesia it makes you want to truly go mad!

I feel like I need to reach in there and rub something soothing on it. And the feeling is not a slight tingle, it is very intense. This morning I couldn't lay in bed because it just builds and builds until I move my head...and finally I just have to get up. I try to put a heating pad or anything to distract my body from feeling that and focus on the heat or any other sensation that is better than that. I still feel it when I am awake and up but if I keep myself busy it is better.

AHHH...these brain symptoms are the worst because you can't do anything to help (like sore muscles or headaches) ...it really is agonizing. I also feel like I am constantly getting new ones and none of the old ones had really gone for good either but they are changing so I hope that is a good sign. How can I keep getting more and more things after almost 8 months off (4 months after reinstatement attempt)?

Sorry this turned into a rant but I literally have so many symptom (and they are all so severe and disabling in nature) and ones no one has ever mentioned. I have things I don't even know how to explain...I feel like I am on drugs instead of being off them!

My surroundings and people visually looking "off" like I am on friggen drugs i don't even think it is derealization anymore...it is much more severe that just feeling disconnected or like there is a veil..just horrific. I am incapacitated due to these things and really will never be a functioning person again...I just cannot believe I did this to my life at 29 years old.

Again...sorry for the rant but I have had a horrific week.

Re: Itching nerves. Brain akathisia???

Also it truly does physically feel like nails on a chalkboard on my brain (not just the creepy feeling it gives you mentally)..if that makes any sense. It is mostly on the whole top and sides of my head.

Re: Itching nerves. Brain akathisia???

This is interesting, I dont have all the symptoms here but I did have what I called brain heat, a burning sensation in my brain occuring at different parts of the brain. Someone on here told me that brain heat doesnt exist so not to give a name to it, well I had it and its good to see that others have experienced a similar sensation.

I havent had brain heat/burning since dropping to 10mg from my failed RI. But it was there all the time when I was on 20, it felt like someone was holding a hot iron to parts of my brain
