Can Paxil CR be split in Half?

Hi- I have those 12.5 mg paxil CR tablets. I take 1 every OTHER day. I am going though a lot of withdrawal and panic and sleep problems even after 6 weeks at this arrangement. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is better to cut those pills they say not to cut in half and take those every day rather than every other day. All suggestions are most welcome. It is another sleepless panicy crazy night. BTW are there any LIVE chat rooms dealing with withdrawal so I can talk live - I live alone and some nights are just unbearable without someone to talk to .

Hi,

I was taking 12.5 for about 7 months and started tapering down three weeks ago. I was taking them every other day, too, but didn't have any withdrawal symptoms at all. Now, I've switched to regular Paxil 10 mgs. I'm going to take them for a week, then start taking 10/5, 10/5, 10/5 for a couple of weeks.

I hear that you can't cut them in half. Have your Dr. prescribe the regular paxil for you.

I've heard a lot of people say drink lots of water and get lots of exercise, which is difficult when you feel like dog doo-doo.

I don't know where there's a live chat for this, but if I find one, I'll forward it to you. Where do you live?
