withdrawal symptoms progressively worse - and tinnitus!

hi
I think ive had a slightly odd withdrawal experience. I cut down from 20mg to 5mg in about 5 months in 2.5 mg stages. During this time i felt generally ok and my depression and anxiety did not really come back too much. the only physical symptoms i got were slight headaches and muscle pains about every 2 weeks after cutting my dose.

But when i started to go down from 5mg these sympotoms got much worse and even when i started taking 2.5mg every two days instead of every day the headaches/muscle pains were probably at their worst.

Whats worse is that i didnt det very depressed untill this stage, even though id been cutting back so slowly. i began to feel suicidally depressed at about 2.5mg every two days, which im told is such a small dose it should be doing nothing.
has anyone else had any such experiences?

i also got tinnitus, ringing in my ears, when i was on 2.5mg a day. the doc says thee is no damage anywhere in my ears - its just my brains perception that is wrong.
i pressume this is the drugs, if anyone else knows anything about this id really appreciate some comments/experiences etc.

thanks a lot

Hiyas Justin, I had this when I first started taking paxil (eventually went away) and now that I am withdrawing from it. It was very irritating at first, but seems to have gotten better. It may sound silly, but if you can stand it, try to listen to some quiet music to distract you from the ringing. There were times when I didn't even want to listen to that, but now if I play it pretty low volume, it seems to help take the edge off. Or, try running a fan so you have a different constant sound going on.

I guess this is kind of late to answer you, but it might help someone else.

yeah tinnitus is common. I honestly wish it was my only symptom as its not too irritating.. Just keep a radio on and you wont even notice it.
