Not again
Well after suffering panic attacks 5 years ago for a period of two months, thought I had a heart problem and was going to die, emergency room visits, etc, I began taking paxil. Shortly after panic attacks stopped and began a normal life again. At times I felt as if I were in a daze. Also had some sexual side effects. But no panic attacks. About a month ago, my doctor told me to get off this stuff. I quit, cold turkey. Hard for the first week. After that felt strong. No more paxil. Last Monday I went to Mexico for a weeks vacation. What starts again. Panic attacks. What I thought was another heart attack. Thought for sure I was going to end up in a morgue in Mexico. Chest pains. Shortness of breath. Extreme dizziness. Nautious. The whole nine yards. Always ran back to my room and felt better after a few minutes. It was so bad that I went to a mexican pharmacy and got 10 paxil pills. Started 10 MG. Was on 20 before. Attacks lessened after a few days on paxil, but were still there. I will go to the doctor tommorow and be put back on this drug. I jsut dont know what to do anymore. I cant take the panic attacks again. I cant live like this anymore. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. The only people who understand this are the people who live this. Thanks

Wean off Paxil
The way to get off Paxil is to wean very slowly like it took me 7 months to wean off 20mg and I still had symptoms.I weaned at 2.5mg until I was symptom free and then started the next 2.5mg and some use Paxil liquid from 10mg down. Also it is so important that for what ever reason you started the Paxil that one has cognitve therapy. This is a great site and if you check out paxil withdrawal on the net you will find tons of stuff about withdrawal. There are still Doctors out there who think one can quit cold turkey off this and that is wrong and when you do panic , brain zaps, nausea and the list goes on happens. As I weaned slowly I did get spaceyness, off balance and some emotional days but I knew it was the Paxil and even when I stopped it I still had some mild brain Zaps but because I was awareof all this and my new thinking habits I did ok!!! Hope this helps on your road to getting off Paxil!!! Timber
