headaches
Been weeining from 20 mg per day for the last 4 years down to nothing while going onto Wellbutrin. First week dropped to 10mg per day; then 10 mg every other day for two weeks. Then dropped of paxil completely a week ago today. Bad headaches kicked in on Wednesday and haven't subsided yet. Talked to my doc and he says 7 to 30 days.
Other than headaches, no other side effects. Even though this has been the most difficult year of my life (my husband is deployed in the Middle East and my mom was just diagnosed with a terminal lung disease), the anxiety and depression have not increased as I have moved off Paxil. The Wellbutrin is being used to treat some of the symptons of the Paxil withdrawal and I will be off that in February of next year. Talk to your doc! Mine is very cautious (and he's my G.P.) and seeing me every four weeks to monitor progress. Tylenol helps and so does exercise. Hang in there! |

it took
Oh the headaches!!! I remember those. I think I had aheadache for at least two darn months. However that was while I was weaning off.
I was at 20 miligrams and weaned down to 15 for a couple of months then down to 10 then back up to 15 then back to 10 then to 5 then back to 10 then back to 5...and then finally i went to the liquid form and got off. It took me a year and a half and the headaches were horrid every time I dropped the dose. Invest in Tylenol or Advil. It does help. The good news is the headaches do go away. I believe it took a month after I was finally off the paxil completely and then no more headaches!!! Good Luck to you! You will get through this, just hang in there. Also as far as anxiety goes...the best thing to do is to see your couselor and vent any frustrations, start the healing process. Write in a journal when you have anxious times, this helps a bit to sort out the feelings and disguard them. Drink alot of water, take vitamin B and exercise exercise exercise. I know this is easier said than done when you feel like crap, but I went to water aerobics at least one time per week towards the end of my weaning from the drug and this did wonders for me. I don't know if it was the water or the endorphin rush! My Care to You, Dianna |
