Strattera for brain fog/cognitive issues?

ok so ever since stopping zoloft, I feel as if i have add. My sense of time is warped, everything is in the moment, 2 hours ago feels like 2 days ago, and this makes my memory of the past seem blurry. Im wondering if anyone has taken straterra for this kind of thing? apparently withdrawing from strattera is fairly easy unlike ssri's. so im thinking about taking strattera while i wait for zoloft withdrawal to go away, which I believe takes 18 months on average according to this site. what do you guys think

Strattera is a failed SNRI..notorious for being harder to get off of than ssri's...and you'll be ending your recovery from zoloft and substituting an snri.

That's what they used to say about SSRIs, and Z drugs, and benzos... Every new drug reportedly doesn't cause withdrawal - probably because they only run the trials for a few weeks.

And increasingly trials are being done in impoverished countries where "adverse events" are not reported or are covered up.

Re: Strattera for brain fog/cognitive issues?

oddly enough i took strattera for about 6 weeks, maybe a little more, after i hit poop out on zoloft. so i was taking both at the same time. i took it for add. didn't work for the add so i stopped taking it. and didn't really notice any withdrawal that i can remember. but maybe i did have problems and just figured it was more issues caused by zoloft. or maybe i wasn't on it long enough. it's all so confusing. i'm almost 19 months off zoloft and not doing real well but couldn't tell you for the life of me if it's withdrawal or i am just messed up. at any rate, i wouldn't count on strattera doing much for you.

Re: Strattera for brain fog/cognitive issues?

Pupsingh, don't be fooled into trying to take another drug to cover up symptoms related to getting off zoloft! There are so many people here who ended up on multiple psychotropic drugs, which caused them no end of pain, and long complicated withdrawal.

Your brain is recovering from zoloft. You feel spacey, your memory is not so great - and you will recover. Just give yourself some time to readjust. Drink plenty of water. Stay away from sugar, caffeine and alcohol. Get some gentle exercise. Be good to yourself, don't look for a pharmaceutical solution to a problem caused by a pharmaceutical product.

Re: Strattera for brain fog/cognitive issues?

thank you for your advice. One thing to mention, at one point i tried to reinstate zoloft to see if the brain fog would clear, and it didnt. i stayed back on for 2 months and i decided since the brain fog didnt lift, i might as well go off again for good. why do you guys think the brain fog didnt lift once i reinstated?

We often see this: the drug just doesn't work the same way it did before on the second or third try.
