Re: Advice for new member?
There are issues with Seroquel, it can cause diabetes and tardive dyskinesia, which (not to scare you, but it can be permanent - I have read the risk increase by 5% each year on antipsychotics to get tardive dyskinesia, but often also relates to higher doses.). I would get off Seroquel first before Lex but you need to collaborate with a pdoc due to your schizophrenia, as it could be dangerous to come off too fast as it can cause rebound psychosis (plus your schizophrenia may come back) - the key is a slow taper, and feeling your body and CNS. Maybe you can just start taper the Lex first, and then later Seroquel to get to a lower management dose (to avoid more severe side effects and to still control your schizophrenia) These are just only suggestions, talk with your pdoc. Hope everythings sorts out for you!
EDIT: I just read that you tapered down from 1000 to 200 mg, thats good. Maybe you can go down to under 100 mg and still have symptoms under control, but watch out and taper slowly (the 10% rule applies here) You could start the Lex taper like we suggested you, but talk with pdoc first.
