Yes, it's called health anxiety. CBT can help enormously.

Re: weird feeling like a bee sting

Shane, we all get tingly feelings, weird pains, aches, etc. and there's no explanation and it's not a symptom of anything. It's just one of those weird things the body does sometimes.

Shane,

Think about it this way. Your nervous system is SO INSANELY complex. Its impossible to even wrap your mind around the complexity. Sometimes a nerve will fire erroneously..producing any various range of sensations depending on the fire rate. Nobody knows why, and its not harmful in the least bit. Its just part of being a human being. Embrace it...its a sign you are alive!!!!

Re: weird feeling like a bee sting

Shane, I've had bee-sting pains since using lexapro. It's similar to the needle-stick feelings that I've had in my feet. The bee-sting pain is like a sharp needle-stick, but with an electrical buzz, and usually happens several times in a row. Is this what you're feeling? For me, it sometimes happens when I'm really relaxed, and I'm sure it's just a nerve pain. I can tell you what I do about it: I say to myself, " I can't believe I'm still getting these random pains 2 years later, and I'll be glad when that goes away."

I think of this as a sign that my nervous system is now waking back up as it recovers from the numbing effects of the SSRI. Of course, I have no proof that's what causes these pains; but it does put a positive spin on it!
